Another annoying day at school . Now I have to convince teachers for getting more students into our club . Honestly , I don't see the point . I mean . even if we do convince teachers there is no way we can guarantee that all students can do their jobs properly . Whatever , let us see what Serena is going to achieve after this .Both me and Serena are in front of Principal's office waiting for him to let us enter .
" Do you know what you are going to say ? ", I ask Serena .
" Not sure but I do know that if you are with me we can convince them . " Serena .
Here we go again she is trusting me too much . Its like I am burdened with something that I can't carry . I want to go home .
" Ok children , what do you want to talk about ? ", principal .
" We need teacher's support for our anti - bullying club . ", Serena .
" What ? ", the principal .
" Yeah , I mean it willl help us to do a lot if you do that . ", Serena as she turns her face towards me trying to convince me talk .
Oh , now she wants me to talk . Ok , I think I can .
" You see , sir . Bullying is a crime . Its a crime that lowers your self -esteem , turns you into an introvert and even suicidal . But we think that it can be rooted out of our school ground if we convince other students to participate . For that we will need teacher's help to conduct various awareness programmes , try to recruit students and remove victim blaming from other students' mind . ", I rambled whatever came into my mind .
" Look , I know you are trying to help those who need it but I don't think our school has serious problems like that . I mean our school environmental is fairly is safe but its okay to be cautious so I am agreeing to open that anti- bullying club but I don't think teacher intervention is required in this . I mean our school grounds are fairly safe . ", the principal with serious tone .
" That is why someone committed a suicide and you didn't know about it until last minute . ", Serena .
Wow ... Bang ! That was direct . You gotta admit Serena is like the toughest person that I have ever met .
" Look kid , I don't know what you think but what happened with Serena was a totally because of
some personal issues . It had nothing to do with the school .", the principal argued .
" Even if it happened because of personal things . Don't you think teachers should know emotional health of his students . Bullying and abuse , its two sides of the same coin . Don't you think ? ", I retorted .
Wow , that was unexpected how the hell did I come up with that . I mean it was totally unexpected .
But before we could argue someone knocked on the door .
Its school' s registrar .
" Sir , sorry to disturb but police has arrived. They want to discuss things about Nora . ", the man said .
" What ? Why are they here ? She committed suicide because of her father . ", the principal nervously as he pushes his spectacles which laid closely on his nose bridge until then .
" Look children I have some things to do . We will discuss it later .", the principal .
" When ? ", Serena .
" Not now . Please leave , both of you . ", the principal .
As soon as we got out of that office we noticed that all students were strangely murmuring about something .
" I heard that police is here . ", someone .
" They are just here for formality . ", someone else .
" I am going to my class . ", I told Serena .
" No, wait . ", she said .
" What ? ", I ask .
Before I could answer two men in uniform arrived with huge built and confident faces . They were moving their heads around as if trying to find something . Their uniform is not as prim and proper as its shown on TV .
" We will wait here until police leaves . ", Serena .
" No, Serena we have to attend the class . We can't miss classes because of this nonsense . ", I said .
" It maybe nonsense for you Myra but its not nonsense for me . Look , if you want to leave . You can . ", she said .
I should I can leave then I will leave . Yeah Myra let us leave . Don't get involved in this nonsense more than you already are .
No , I can 't leave . I am a coward but not a person with no principles .
Thus , we waited outside the Principal's chamber for at least an hour on a bench until police came out .
" What are you doing ? ", I asked Serena as she sprinted towards police officers and our principal .
" Well , that is all . Thank you for your time , sir . ", the officer .
" Pleasure is mine . ", the principal.
" Sir , since you are done . Can we talk about the anti-bullying club ? ", Serena as she suddenly appeared in front of the principal who looked startled at her audacity .
" What is that ? ", officer .
" Good afternoon , sir . My name is Serena and I am thinking of opening a club to stop child abuse and bullying . ", Serena .
" Wow , that is a good idea . ", the officer .
" Yeah , I know .It would have been great if teachers helped us . ", Serena .
" Not now ....", the principal .
" No , I think this kid is right . You should seriously consider this . I think I will talk other officials regarding this . Your school can become inspiration for other schools in Parampura . I think your students are very bright and active . We can start mass movement . So that no kid will ever kill themselves . Not to mention suicide rate is increasing in our areas these days . " ,police officer looked very inspired .
" What was your name again ? ", other officer .
" Serena . ", Serena answered .
Well played Serena . Our mission is successful .
Within a week our all work was done . Teachers chose appropriate students for the club . Our office was modelled by school committee . Serena became new president of the club and I was made vice - president . Students joined our club . Even though its tiring to work in this club we are glad to help those who need it .
" I can' t believe this I am working under you . ", Jeremy who was forced to join club by teachers .
" You can leave . We don't need an arrogant person like you here . ", Serena .
Yeah , I am walking with Jeremy and Serena for inspection . Its already tiring to walk around school grounds for an hour but now I am stuck with these two .
"Oh , yeah its your fault . You are the one you wants to play hero . ", Jeremy .
" At least I am doing something unlike you . You just sit around and do nothing while your friends bully others . ", Serena .
" Its none of my business . Its not like I am doing it . ", Jeremy .
" You are the most selfish person that I have ever met . ", Serena .

" Oh my God , stop it ! ", I shouted making those two idiot silent ," We are here to do something . We don't shouldn't fight . "
