Opposites attract

part 3

It's been 3 days since I joined the school. Isla and I have become friends which is just as well because Logan keeps suggesting I sit with him and his friends at lunch which is not something I'm eager to do. They'd probably kill me or something.

Each day I hear more and more things about them and I'm starting to understand why people are scared of them. I've also heard many rumours of why they went to jail for example they burnt down a church, were caught dealing, robbed a shop, stabbed a guy and left him in a hospital and many, many more.

"Lils! Over here!" Isla called out and waved me over to the bleachers in gym class. I quickly dodged Logan who was calling out my name, trying to get my attention.

"Why does he keep trying to talk to you?" Isla chuckled as I sat down. I simply shrugged my shoulders. I don't know why he keeps trying to talk to me, to be honest. There are so many girls in this school yet he decides to bother me out of all people.

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen. Get into teams of 5, please." The coach walked in and announced making both Isla and I groan. There were only the 2 of us. And you know whose group needed 2 more people. Logans.

Before I could do anything I saw him eagerly walking towards us both with the other 2 boys behind him.

Oh no. "Shit, we need to find a team and quick!" I spat while desperately looking around only to see everyone else was in groups already. Oh god. Oh no.
"Okay it'll be fine. It's just for 1 lesson. We'll be fine." Isla kept mumbling over and over trying to convince herself.

Logan sat down next to me while the other 2 boys sat behind us. "Finally, I swear you've been ignoring me. You'd think we're killers or something!" He laughed while nudging me, both Isla and I awkwardly laughed.

"Lily this is Caleb and this is Colin. Caleb will warm up eventually, you just have to get used to Colin being a moody cow." Logan snickered causing him to get hit around the back of the head by Colin.

"Wait so your Lily - like the flower. But who is your friend?" Caleb asked, looking Isla up and down.

"I'm Isla." She spoke suddenly, taking me by surprise considering she was shitting herself not even 20 seconds ago.

The coach spoke up again making me turn to him, "Great now you are all in your groups I'll explain what you'll be doing! For the next 2 weeks, you have a project. You need to research different Olympic sports and present them in either a book, PowerPoint or to the class." An audible groan came from the whole class, including our whole group.

For very different reasons though. I assume logan, Caleb and Isla are groaning as we're doing a project. Colin and I however I believe are groaning for the same reason, being stuck in this group together.

The rest of the lesson went painfully slow. We spent it trying to research but failing miserably and deciding everyone will just do their research and then I'll put it all together.

However, does mean I've had to give Logan mine and Isla's Snapchat so he can add us to a group chat.

I got home and saw I was added to the group chat. "The girls and the boys they're scared of" they aren't wrong I guess.

I watched as messages began coming through, one from Liam saying hi, followed by Calum and Isla. I then saw a friend request from Colin and hesitantly accepted it. What's the worst that can happen?... he could track me and kill me- no! He wouldn't.... hopefully.

As soon as I accepted it, Colin left the group chat. Weird. He then began typing. "I'm bringing the research round on Saturday night." My dad leaves for a business trip on Friday anyway so it doesn't matter.

I type back a quick 'ok' before leaving it at that and turning off my phone.
