*Lily's pov*

It's Monday morning, aka back to school and my cheer tryout. Yippee...

I looked through my clothes and picked out my sports leggings and a crop top, I threw a jacket over it before walking over to my mirror and put my hair into a bun, in an attempt to hide the bald patch.

Best we're going to get I guess...
I quickly applied some makeup and ran down the stairs, grabbing some fruit and a slice of toast.

I'm already running late.

I began walking down the road, hugging myself due to the cold. It was autumn now meaning the air was getting crisper.

Suddenly I heard a car honking at me, I turned to face it and saw Isla. She was waving at me eagerly in the driver's seat. I laughed as she pulled over next to me.

"Oh my god get it in, it's freezing!" She practically screamed. She sure does have a lot of energy for 8 in the morning. Oh well, better then being moody.

I walked round to the passenger side and got in, smiling at her.
"How come your dressed sporty today?" Isla asked as she began to drive again.

"I've somehow roped myself into a cheer tryout.." I mumbled, much less enthusiastically than her current tone.

"Oh god.. the cheer squad is so bitchy." She groaned making me furrow my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I got that impression but does that mean they've done stuff?

We continued talking the rest of the way to school, as soon as we arrived we were greeted by a cheerful Logan and Calum, but no sign of Colin.

I wonder where he is?

"I heard you spent your Saturday night in the hospital" Logan began speaking as he put his arm over my shoulder.

"Unfortunately, yes. Because of a certain someone. Speak of him where is he?" I replied while looking towards him, ignoring Isla who was in a flirting session with Calum.

"I dunno, to be honest, we haven't seen him since Saturday morning and haven't heard from him since yesterday morning." Logan blabbered while glancing towards one of the football boys.

"Oh... okay, I thought he would've talked to one of you since he left my house." I half whispered while walking towards my first lesson of the day, Biology.

I split away from the rest of the group and walked into my classroom, I looked towards the back and saw a familiar boy.

Colin.

He was sat in the corner with his head against the desk. You could barely tell it was him, he wasn't in his usual jeans and t-shirt. Instead he was wearing jogging bottoms and a hoodie.

I walked over to him and cleared my throat, causing him to lift his head revealing a slash on his face. Immediately, my face dropped. What happened to him?

"Oh my god, are you okay?" It didn't exactly look small, it looked quite deep. It went from the top of his left eyebrow down  to the right side of his face.

"Im fine." He grumbled, putting his head back on the desk. I took the seat next to him and didn't take my eyes away, studying his body language.

"Did you get in a fight?" I asked, he may be a jerk but something is clearly wrong.

He completely ignored me so I tapped his arm, however, he quickly shot up before moving away and going back to ignoring me.

"Colin... who hurt you?" I questioned in a whisper so no one would overhear. Once again there was no answer.

I kept trying to get him to answer me but he wouldn't, no matter what.

"Just fuck off Lily." He snapped as he sat up to face me. I didn't know what to say. He looks really angry.

"I-uh.. I just wanted to help.." I mumbled, looking down at my hands and beginning to play with them.

"Well, I don't need your help." He scoffed before laying back down on his table.

I thought back to Sunday morning. Where did he say he was going? Did he even say where? I don't think he did.

If he didn't go to Calum or Logan's then he had to of gone somewhere. Where could he of gone? He said his mum was an alcoholic. Would he of gone back?

"Did your mum do this to you?" I whispered even quieter. He didn't respond yet I knew the answer by the way he noticeably tensed up.

"Oh, Colin..." I sighed, placing my hand on top of his. He quickly moved it away but sat up.

"Bunk with me?" He mumbled. There was no teacher here and only a few kids... I've never bunked before though. Like ever. And it's not great on my 2nd week here.

But then.. he clearly needs help even if he says he doesn't. I slowly nod my head, watching as he quickly stands up and grabs my wrist, pulling me along.

We ran out to the parking lot and he soon stopped in front of his car and unlocked it. He walked round to the driver's side as I got in the passenger seat.

"Where are we going?" I asked as he began to drive out of the school. "My house first then we'll go get something to eat I guess." He mumbled, I looked out the window, slightly regretting coming with him. This is bad.

He begins to pull into the bad part of town and drives down a road, stopping in front of a tiny, run-down house.

"It's a dump, I know. It's this or going into foster care again so... just stay behind me for a moment." He explains. Does he think I'm judging him?

I follow a few steps behind him as he slowly opens the front door and peaks his head through.

"Mum?" He calls out into the house, but there's no response.

He reaches for my wrist again, pulling me close to him. As we begin to walk through the house a women stumbles out the kitchen.

"There you are! You and whoever your friend is can go get me some rum and cigarettes ive only got 2 left!" The short, stubby woman slurred her words. She must be his mum.

"I'm not getting you anything." He scoffed while practically pushing me up the stairs. I heard a loud smash and turned back to see a bottle on the floor.

"Go, quick." Colin rushed me, he pulled me into a room which I assume to be his bedroom. It was a mattress on the floor, clothes in broken draws and a box full of random stuff as well as a table lamp on the floor next to the mattress.

"Uh.. sorry about this.... I need to grab some fresh clothes and a few other bits that's all." He mumbled whole hunting through the draws, chucking clothes into his backpack.

His back was facing me as I sat on the bed, watching as he went to pull of his hoodie but stopped halfway through and let it fall.

"I'll turn round.." I half whispered, looking out the window. I heard shuffling round  and glanced behind me.

He was covered in all sorts of injuries. Cuts, burns and bruises. The burns seemed to be from cigarettes. The cuts were slashes making me assume it's from pieces of glass or something like that. And the bruises... they were horrible colours. They looked like from a belt.
