New morning started and it felt like a happy life had washed over Jake's whole body. He woke up early with a smile on his face, and almost forgot about what his life was like before. A whole new person woke up, knowing that the other side of his body waited for his soul to go back to start a new day with a different circumstance and surroundings than what he was having everyday.
He listened as Grace was telling the story, and now that he was able to feel included in the conversation. Jake Sully was happy for once in his life again. The scientists around the room nodded and listened to the story with interest. Grace told the story from the beginning to the end on how two of her students were messing around in the forest, from the hammerhead to the chasing of the thanator then to how they met the daughter of the chief.
''So the kids were out there one night and they got Queen Bitch herself offering them the spare room and the car keys. Unbelievable.'' Grace talked with a proud smile, looking at Jake and Rasmei who sat beside each other eating their breakfast. She finished before him because she seemed to not talk much other than Jake himself.
''It's not something you can teach.'' Jake responded with self-satisfaction with a spoon of oatmeal shoved into his mouth. Looking over to Rasmei, she gave him a thumbs up from behind while the other Avatars drivers were laughing along with Jake's speech and congratulation. ''Cap over here saved me a few times. You are not going to believe what she have done.''
Jake continued his talk as Rasmei shook her head, and nudged his arm with her elbows. Her brows raised when she realized that someone was suddenly missing from the circle. Norm Spellman was nowhere to be found near them but out to a little far from them, chopped the bacon in his plate as he unhappily looked down.
''Flipping the whole viperwolf, Jake... that's unbelievable for Chan to do.'' Max's face amused as he talked. ''She gotta have rage in there.''
''Hell yeah.'' Jake laughed once again and looked at Rasmei who wasn't paying attention to what she was in right now.
''For reasons I cannot fathom, the Omaticaya have chosen you. God help us all.'' Grace said, turning to her two students. The outburst she has on Jake the first time she met him showed her how much she has wronged him. Rasmei begged her to give a chance to Jake and now there he was, Jake has now been accepted into Omaticaya alongside the Captain.
Jake stared at her eyes that were staring at Norm silently. He leaned closer to her and asked her without knowing what happened to the other guy. ''What's wrong with him?''
She turned to face him. ''Clearly, upset.''
''Why?'' He asked smugly, went back to shove his food in his mouth once again. Rasmei frowned when she heard the question out of his lips.
''He's upset because Norm has put his afford for more than five years onto this study only to have some random guy who took his brother's place to get to go into the Clan.'' Rasmei said seriously but her voice was so gentle, her brown eyes looking straight into his soul. She sighed, feeling the understanding of the other man and she was going to admit it that she wished Norm made it to the cut with the two of them too. Her hand was on Jake's shoulder giving him a tap before she took her plate and stood up from her place. ''I'm going over there to have a few talk.''
