The day has come and it went on faster than Jake had expected it to be, and Rasmei found herself sitting right in front of the mirror brushing her hair while looking into the reflection of herself. He watched her slowly and in a moment she was doing it looking like she had been thinking something in her mind.
Then when her eyes caught his, a smile on her face revealed. Looking at him, something felt a little bit off from him when he came back from Hell's Gate last night. She hugged him to sleep last night and in fact, she didn't get to ask him if something had bothered him.
''Jake?'' Her lips parted, finally she inquired about him. ''You alright?''
Guilt bubbled up his chest so hard that it wanted to explode out. He stuttered the words and it got stuck in his throat while Rasmei slowly walked closer to him. ''I-i...''
''What's bothering you since last night, huh?'' She whispered, leaning down to his side in concern. He swallowed down the word as his mind ran ahead with rather he would tell her or not but Jake was scared. He still couldn't find himself doing it.
''N-No....nothing is going on.'' He smiled up at her, grabbing onto her pale hand and gently circled his thumb on her. Rasmei seemed to look at him with suspicion but she shook herself off because she knew Jake would have said anything out if the things he was minding was involving her in.
''If you have something, you know you can tell me anything. I'm here with you.'' Her other palm was grabbing onto him tight. They looked at each other like they had only one another in this world and this caused Jake to smile. He was scared that he would break this woman's heart, he was scared that he was going to lose her anytime he revealed the fact to her. Leaning over, he gave her a gentle kiss on her cheek, making sure that he actually had nothing to tell her and he was fine with it even if he had to swallow his guilt into his gut.
Rasmei was obviously knowing that something was really going on but she has to know that he was telling her already that he actually has nothing, so what she was doing right now was to believe him. He told her to link first and she did because she has something to prepare and to learn from Neytiri before the ceremony starts.
Jake himself watched her linked up in the pod, as he lingered himself with hands poking on the gel mattress of his link hesitatingly. Grace saw this, she started to ask it out loud while throwing the little of her cigarette away. ''Did something going off?''
The man closed his eyes, brows frowned with stress like everything was under his hand right now. If he won't tell Rasmei about this, he at least should have told Grace to let her know. Shaking his head, his eyes looked up to the older woman. ''I'm off the way now, Grace.''
Grace tilted her head in questioning, looking between the bed and Jake curiously as Norm came in. ''What does that mean?''
''I don't know....'' Jake ran his hand through his face tiredly. ''I don't know what to do.'' Concerning was on Norm's face listening to Jake who looked like he was suffering in his thoughts. Jake shook his head once again, as he pulled himself from his wheelchair, levering himself into the Link, hauling his useless legs inside before he looked at them again.
