POV Katsuki
"Yes," Katsuki growled softly.
Of course, she recognized the missing pro hero immediately. Just before his abduction, Deku's face had flickered across TV screens or been printed in a magazine almost every day.
Shit ...!
There were probably all the fucking paparazzi and reporter assholes outside again, in addition to the medics and police officers.
"Are you going to stare at him idly any longer, or would it be fucking possible for you to finally do your fucking job and help me to help him?!" Katsuki rumbled.
The woman winced, apparently regaining her professionalism. "Sorry," she muttered.
"I need something to cover him with. Don't want to end up on a front page like this when I take him to an ambulance."
"I've got something here." The paramedic pulled an emergency blanket out of her bag, which was sitting on the floor, and tucked it around Deku, silver side up.
Then she pulled out a small lamp, pushed up his eyelids one by one, and shone a brief light into the omega's eyes. How Katsuki had missed that emerald green ...
"Normal reaction, no discernible craniocerebral trauma. Once the technician removes his collar, he can be taken away."
"Can't they do it at the hospital?" Katsuki was in a hurry. He didn't want the young man in his arms in this unspeakable place one second longer than absolutely necessary.
Sadly, the paramedic shook her head. "These things have a GPS. If you remove the collar too far from the main signal, the integrated explosive device will go off and cause fatal damage that will inevitably result in the death of the wearer. We have been strongly warned not to take the prisoners out until they are no longer wearing a collar."
Katsuki swallowed hard. Those fucking assholes! If he hadn't already beaten the shit out of every one of the motherfuckers present here who hadn't been able to escape the raid, he wouldn't feel bad about making up for it now. The next time he faced Overhaul, he'd tear him to shreds!
The alpha forced himself to calm down. "Where do I find this technician?"
"Still pretty far at the beginning of this complex. They've only recently figured out how to disarm these things."
Katsuki nodded curtly and walked past the woman when something occurred to him and he stopped again. Over his shoulder, he fixated the young woman with his blood-red gaze. "If I have to read an exclusive interview of you in one of those fucking tabloids, I'm going to find you and then you're going to regret you weren't able to keep your mouth shut."
She was not intimidated by his words. They knew the prickly nature of the number one pro hero. "Don't worry about it, Dynamight. I've examined him. That makes him my patient, which makes anything to do with him subject to confidentiality."
"Better be."
Now it was settled, nothing held Katsuki back and he stormed to the end of the hallway. There he was met by a small group of boiler suits and two more medics with a scared to death omega on a stretcher. The pheromones stung Katsuki's nose and he winced. Good thing the others were all betas. So they were hardly affected by it and could do their job.
One of the technicians tampered with the other omega's neck. With every sound and movement the technician made with his tool, the omega flinched. Bitter tears streamed down his cheeks. Trying to move as little as possible, the omega had already bitten his lower lip bloody.
