CW: Smut and a cringing conversation about the art form of fanfictions 🤣
No, of course Kat could NOT let it go.
________________________POV Izuku
The day had been exhausting and had worn him out in more ways than one, which is why Izuku had gone to bed shortly after dinner. There he read on his smartphone and waited for his mate to join him in bed.
Izuku only had to wait a few more minutes before he heard the door handle being pushed down and his alpha entered. He sat down on the edge of the bed with him. "I told you to stop watching this shit. Let's wait for the press release until we get back to the fact that the internet and its countless weirdos exist."
"I wasn't on one of my channels," Izuku replied.
"No?"
He shook his head. "I was reading s-something."
Now the blond raised his eyebrows. "Like fan fiction?"
The omega choked on his spit, heat rising in his cheeks. "Wha- no! I would never ... well ... uhm, it's not that I've never have, but ... I d-d-didn't think you knew what that was?"
His mate met him with a broad grin. "I still don't know what that nonsense is, but your reaction is really interesting every time. So, nerd, who knows better about this, enlighten me."
Izuku let out an annoyed whimper.
"So it's that bad?" Katsuki asked.
"Not exactly bad, just maybe a l-little embarrassing?"
"Why is that?"
"Please don't make me explain it to y-you. Ask Google!" Izuku buried his face in his hands, only to jerk his head up again as soon as he realized what Kacchan was guaranteed to find in such a search. "Although, no! Definitely don't a-ask Google! You really shouldn't do that. Who knows what you'll f-find there. Some are quite nice, others are m-more than that. However, some are really questionable! And anywa-"
"You're mumbling, Izu," the alpha interrupted him.
"Oh! Sorry..."
"So, what will it be? You decide. Do you want to explain it to me or should I let the internet traumatize me?" The blond grinned challengingly and once again the omega cursed himself for not being able to refuse this face.
"Then... I guess I'll have to explain it t-to you." Izuku avoided his mate's piercing gaze.
Katsuki sat down on the bed with him and waited. The silence put the greenette under even more pressure than any teasing from the blond could have.
"Soo ... Fanfictions are stories written by fans about th-their favorite stars or heroes - sometimes they're even about fictional characters from TV shows or books. There are entire p-platforms on the internet where the stories are shared, rated and commented on." Izuku risked a glance into ruby red eyes that looked at him uncomprehendingly.
"I don't quite get it yet," the alpha admitted.
"Basically, the plot of most of them is a fantasy the au-author has for themselves or with another character."
"Izu, I'm still not any smarter. Speak plainly."
The omega wanted to sink into the ground. To get it over with as quickly as possible, he took a deep breath and rattled off the explanation as fast as he could: "Fanfictions about heroes are usually about b-being dramatically rescued by your favorite hero and said hero falling madly in love with you at first s-sight. Then there are a few ups and downs, but in the end they are overcome and there is a happy ending - often with a d-dream wedding and children."
