POV Izuku

"Every damn day," Katsuki grumbled.

Izuku's heart warmed at the thought.

"Bakugou-san, I understand it, I really do, but it's important for Midoriya-san to calm down for now. He mustn't get upset. That could worsen his mental state," the woman explained.

Katsuki's mouth was pinched, then he sighed and gave Izuku a weak smile. "If it's better for him, I'll comply and go-"

"N-No!" Izuku groaned. "Kacchan m-may stay. I-I'm s-sorry about what h-happened. I-I didn't know t-that it was him when I w-woke up. I-I thought he w-was ..." The omega fell silent. He didn't want to tell anyone what panic had taken possession of him when he woke up.

At Izuku's words, Katsuki grinned smugly, picked up the chair which lay on the floor near the impact, came back to the bed with it, and sat on it. "There you hear it, doctor."

The doctor grumbled in reply. "Well, fine by me. Then you'll just keep sitting in that chair, Bakugou-san. Still, I have some medical details to discuss with Midoriya-san which might be better left between patient and doctor."

At the thought of Katsuki finding out all the things which had happened to him, Izuku's stomach turned and he felt sick. He couldn't know, then Kacchan would surely never smile at him again like he had just done, but find him as disgusting as Izuku felt himself to be.

His heart raced and his breathing quickened. Kacchan mustn't know about any of this! The nausea was getting worse. Izuku's stomach cramped and he turned to the side. In front of the bed he vomited bitter bile. He cringed when he felt a hand on his back and retched again.

"I-I'm sorry," Izuku gasped as the spasm subsided.

The doctor waved it off. "That happens more often than you think. We'll take care of it in a minute. But for now, Bakugou-san, I must urge you to wait outside the door for a while. Give your friend the space he needs during the examination. After that, you are welcome to come back in."

Katsuki sighed. "Fine, I'll wait then," he grumbled in the doctor's direction. Turning to Izuku, he said, "If you need me, call me and I'll be right back."

The omega nodded weakly. At that moment, he didn't dare look at the other man.

"Hah yes, Dynamight's infamous temper - always refreshing," the doctor said as soon as the door to the room had slammed shut.

Izuku smiled faintly.

"Now for you."

He winced involuntarily.

"My name is Akari Yaguchi, and I've been in charge of you since you were admitted. When you were brought to us, you were not in good condition. You are terribly malnourished. When was the last time you ate?"

"I-I don't q-quite know. Som-sometime before my h-heat." Izuku would have preferred to sink into the ground. He didn't want to talk about what had happened since then.

"So over a week," Dr. Yaguchi muttered, scribbling something on the piece of paper pinned to her clipboard.

"We took care of the hematomas and bite wounds as needed. That's all healing up. However, you had some internal bleeding in the rectal area, as well as lacerations there. The bleeding has stopped in the meantime and therefore we did not have to operate. So that will also be fine with time."

Izuku bit his lower lip and nodded weakly. It helped that the doctor remained so matter-of-fact and didn't shower him with excessive pity.

Dr. Yaguchi continued, "Since you were obviously violated during your heat, we gave you a drug on admission which prevents unwanted pregnancy. So in that regard, you have nothing to worry about."

He didn't know what to say to that. Of course, Izuku was grateful he had been found and given medical care, but he still felt ashamed. If it had been up to him, the public would never have known about him being an omega and not a beta. Especially not in this way. Fortunately, his mother didn't have to live through it. She had died of colon cancer six months before he was taken. Now at this moment, he missed her terribly.

Dr. Yaguchi looked at him expectantly. Had she asked him something?

"'m sorry. W-What?" he asked awkwardly.

"I wanted to know if you had any questions?" she repeated.

Izuku shook his head.

"Good, then you should get some more rest now. We need to slowly get you used to regular meals again and improve your general health status. Then we'll go from there."

"O-Okay."

"Should I let Bakugou-san back in or send him home?" Dr. Yaguchi asked. "Don't worry, I'll do it, if that's your wish. I don't care how much he fusses about it."

"Kacchan m-may stay," Izuku replied as firmly as he could. Then he thought of something else, but the doctor had already turned away, and headed for the door. "D-Dr. Yaguchi?"

"Yes?" She paused and looked over her shoulder with a smile.

"H-How long h-has Kacchan been h-here?" Izuku hated this stuttering, but he couldn't help it. He was too nervous and unsure right now. Something had broken inside him during the past two years. Apparently, it showed in his words as well.

The doctor's smile widened. "Dynamight was the one who got you out of that underground club. He hasn't left your side since, threatening death to anyone who tried to get him to leave."

"R-Really?" Izuku's eyes widened in wonder.

Dr. Yaguchi nodded affirmatively. "Your friend seems to really care about you. That's a good thing. The next months will be tough for you, Midoriya-san. You're going to need all the support you can get."

The omega swallowed hard. Gradually, he began to understand he had escaped this hell. Could he hope to return to his old life one day?

Dr. Yaguchi cleared her throat. "Now you should push aside the dull thoughts and concentrate on the good. You are free. We'll take care of everything else in the next few days. For tomorrow, I'll book you an appointment with a psychologist. She specializes in trauma patients and will be there to help you recover."

"Th-thank you," Izuku replied softly.

With an encouraging smile, Dr. Yaguchi left his room. As she opened the door, Izuku caught a glimpse of Katsuki. The alpha was still there.
