(Reader's POV)
I rouse myself awake from my bed, taking in my surroundings with the blurry vision my unawakened eyes have blessed me with.

'What time is it?' i ask myself, slamming my weak hand on the bedside table and letting my fingertips curl over the smooth surface of my phone.

Grabbing my phone, I unlocked it.

'80085'

The password screen rose up, and there my eyes wander on my favourite character.

"Childe looks so ugly here" I say, grimacing at his improper figure. Swiping away to my gallery, I set my cat as my home screen wallpaper.

Speaking of the devil.

Mae meowed, kneading my thick soft blankets with a little cookie for me, jammed within her small teeth.

Mae was a black persian cat, the tip of her ears and tail were tinted with white. Alongside her beautiful emerald eyes.

"Morning Mae!" I cooed, breaking off an untouched piece of the pastry and popping it in my mouth. Mae really has good taste in cookies!

I lived alone in this apartment, although alone. I didn't need to pay rent, just bills. I got the whole place to myself and Mae.

Getting ready to laze off today, I take a nice cold shower and change into some comfortable clothes.

I grabbed a bowl of oatmeal and hummed, eating it with honey and fruits as i boot up my computer.

I worked as an accountant from monday to thursday, making atleast $2350 a month. Dont ask why it's so much.

Today was a friday, which meant I could grind my genshin peacefully with no disturbances.

Letting the genshin screen load, I finished my oatmeal and cleaned my dish in the sink.

"This place is pretty dead... By which i mean, there's nothing to kill."

Childe states, his idle voiceline popping up due to the inactivity.

I sit back in my chair and began grinding, not much to do really. I did comissions, and reputation quests, explore sumeru.

I yawned, stretching. I have been grinding for a good 5 hours and it was currently 2pm.

"Maybe I'll just rest a bit... Watch my computer for me Mae.." I mumbled, stumbling to my bed and letting my figure fall asleep as Mae's worried meows echo in the back of my head.

(Childe's POV)
"Jeez its so tight" I mutter under my breath, stepping out of the square-like device. My head touching the ceiling as i spot the little cat entangling my boots.

'What does this animal want?' I thought, picking up the small cat and petting it to a more calm state.

'What place is this? Why arent there any enemies except this girl who seems to have been passed out not so long ago?' I thought once again, taking off my boots and setting them aside. Sitting on the framed mattress.

'this is oddly comfortable.. this is way better than the bed i have back in snezhnaya. So warm too' I caress the covers.

'I feel bad about this girl. I dont even know who she is but shes cute.. i think.' I lift her bridal style and tuck her in the covers. She murmurs a faint "noo" and falls back asleep on the bed.

Her little cat lays ontop of her, curled like one of those pastries I've gotten only once from fountaine.

'Maybe I should explore this place a bit, everything here seems so new. Though, there are better ways to spend my time.'

-later-

(Reader's POV)
I woke up from my 3 hour nap to noises of pans clanking and cupboards being opened. Last time i remember cooking was 2 years ago.

Wait. Who was making those noises?

I scurried from my bed all the way to the kitchen, my eyes widening at the sight.

"Evening comrade, I see you slept well. Earlier I was pretty bored so I decided to try and cook up a meal for the two of us" Childe says casually, a gleaming smile on his face while he stares back at me, Mae watching him cook on my electronic stove while swaying her tail.

He's real?? No it cant be. I need to check on my genshin.

"Comrade? Are you okay?" He called out for me once again, my shocked face gave it off. Which, i tried my best to compose myself.

"U-uh yea." I stuttered out, slightly afraid of the 6ft ginger man cooking in my kitchen.

"Loosen up comrade, I won't hurt you" he reassures, petting my hair and stirring the pot of soup.

One thing that bothered me was that..

HE SMELLED LIKE SHIT

"you smell horrible." I grimaced, pinching my nose and looking away from him.

"Oh? Do i? Well, you'll get accustomed to my scent anyway, no other way to get rid of it" He answers casually, finishing off the tasty looking dish.

"wait may i?"

I say, pointing up on his ginger hair.

"hm?"

Turning off the stove, he ducks down. His azure yet lifeless eyes gazing at my hands.

I pet his hair and wow. It doesn't feel like a wig. It just feels like straight up fluff.

He seems a little bit agitated, although he allowed me to.

"Maybe I'll give you a bath so you dont smell."

"What's a bath?"
