(Narrative POV)
Your eyes flutter open, your body feeling heavy like a corpse. You were in absolute shock. You were back in your room again, Mae clinging onto your leg as you adjust yourself against the headrest of your bed. Even if it was good to be back home, you couldn't fathom the fact that this was all a hallucination.
It felt as if he was never real, as if he never existed in your life anymore. All those memories down the drain, all those memories turning to be some sort of escapism or derealization.
You felt a sharp pain in your chest, letting tears stream down your slightly chubby cheeks as all the memories start flooding back.
You looked back at your worried cat, who seemed to be meowing for your attention. She laid on your stomach, purring as if to comfort you from whatever pain you were feeling.
These loving feelings of yours were all trapped in a dream you had hoped was real.
You checked your time, begging to see atleast the text messages between your boss that you had apparently sent when you had to sort things out with Zhongli and Childe.
It was there.
You gasp in shock, scanning the messages. They were from two days ago, which meant you had until monday to prepare for your normal work routine again.
Turns out this dream was really not just a facade or a hallucination to escape your dull life.
It was something that really happened, although you were teleported back to your world due to some unknown cause.
"Comrade!" the voice of your boyfriend rang in your ears, darting your tired eyes onto your monitor. You finally saw him again.
His ginger hair frolicking and gliding over his face, his toned jaw and sparkly blue eyes. Those features you enjoyed getting lost in really existed.
He looked buffer than before, which caused you to wonder in where he had been this whole time.
"Whe-"
"Before you ask, I informed her highness the Tsaritsa of your doings, and she thanked you well. She gave you a nice funding for capturing one of Dottore's bewildered clones. She gave me a break too!"
Your jaw hung agape, you were in absolute disbelief. Dottore had multiple physical appearances? It was hard to even tell that he was a clone.
Childe let out a breathy chuckle, closing your monitor as he sat himself on the edge of your bed.
Whilst you admired him in all his beauty, you couldn't help but notice the harness he was wearing.
It was so.. distracting, so distracting in fact it made your eyes linger. What kind of occupation allowed you to equip this kind of stuff?
"Baby? Are you alright?" he mumbled, inching closer as he cradled his fingers in yours. He didn't seemed so agitated with calling you a new nickname, on the other hand. It kept you frozen in your intrusive thoughts.
You reached to his harness, pulling onto it. It caused him to reach closer to you instinctively. You run your fingers through the leather harness wrapped tight around his chest and a red streak appeared on his face due to it.
"why do you have to wear this?" you spoke, your tone laced in curiousity as endless odd thoughts began clouding the ginger's mind.
"W-well you see, it's to keep my coat on me if i ever happen to take it off" Childe excused, leaving you slightly confused at that fact. Nodding understandingly, you get out of bed.
