Chapter 6: Resonance

  (Liebe's p.o.v.)

  It's been a couple of hours since we brought those Fairy Tail members back to ruins where our camp was, and honestly I didn't like it. We still knew nothing about the people in this 'Fairy Tail' guild, and we practically let them know where we live by bringing them to the ruins. Besides that, they're humans, the race that nearly killed me despite being an injured child who did nothing to them in the first place. I know that there are very few of them who don't blindly fear and hate me for being a Devil, but that alone wasn't enough to get me to let go of my antipathy towards them. It just means that there's 2 fewer humans to dislike.

  Right now, we were discussing what we were going to do next. "If there are more members of Fairy Tail on the island, they're going to come looking for their two friends. Once they see what Liebe did, they're going to be on the warpath." Zeref stated. I remembered him telling us about rumors that he heard from people he passed by, despite being so far away from them. He heard that those who mess with members of Fairy Tail would incur their wrath and the guild would retaliate in kind. So, this would be a problem for anyone other than us, since magic is useless against me and Asta because of our Anti-magic. So truthfully, we weren't that worried about ourselves. Zeref on the other hand, we had no idea how strong they were compared to him. Asta replied, "We should probably look around and see if there are any more of their members on the island, I want to know why they're here in the first place." "You're right. Even if this island is Fairy Tail's sacred ground, no one comes to this island very often. So it's curious that they would come here to such a remote part of the ocean." Zeref stated.

  As they were continuing to figure out what we should do about our current situation, I noticed something peculiar. My Anti-magic was starting to stir for some reason. This had never happened before, even after being stuck on that island for months. I started to wonder why my power started acting up now. As I thought about it, I began to think that it had something to do with the Fairy Tail members coming to this island. Perhaps one of them had magic that was causing my Anti-magic to fluctuate. I called out to the others, "Guys?" They looked at me and I explained that my Anti-magic was stirring, and that it may have something to do with one of the Fairy Tail members on the island. "Hmmm, does it feel like it's being drawn to some place on the island?" Zeref asked. As I paid closer attention to my unusually active power, I realized that he was right. My power felt like it was being drawn somewhere, as if it was being called to the source. I looked at him and nodded. Zeref responded, "I think that one of the guild members uses a type of magic that's resonating with your Anti-magic. It's possible that the one your resonating with is also experiencing this anomaly and will probably come looking for you. Two powers being drawn towards each other like magnets, if I had to make a educated guess, I would say that the power your resonating with is most likely demonic in nature."

  Asta and I were surprised to hear this and I asked, "You mean that someone in Fairy Tail is a demon or has the power of one?" "Some animals of the same species often communicate with each other in various ways, from males growling as a warning to opposite genders sounding a mating call. This could be the case for what you're experiencing right now." Zeref stated and I thought, 'I doubt it's a like a mating call, my Anti-magic is likely irritated that because it senses a magic that is can't stand. When Asta first enter his Black form, my Anti-magic would always pursue strong magic and seek to purge it. And when Zagred was around, my power that was flowing through him had grown more intense as it sought to eradicate the Word Soul Magic Devil. My Anti-magic is reacting a bit differently compared to those past instances. I can't describe it exactly, but I know for sure that it's not a mating call.' "Either way, we should investigate what it is your Anti-magic is being drawn to. Come, let's go." Zeref informed us.

  That was when I just realized something, "Wait a minute, what about Asta?" I said. My brother and the Black Wizard looked at me and I continued, "Asta has my Anti-magic flowing through him too, so he should feel the power stir as well." They both realized this and Zeref asked, "Oh that's right? Asta, do you feel your power fluctuating too?" Asta closed his eyes and started looking within himself to try and sense the Anti-magic within him. He opened his eyes and said, "No, the Anti-magic in me is as calm as water in a pond. How is that possible?" This surprised me and Zeref and the latter went up to my brother and placed a hand on his head before closing his eyes. I could tell that he was trying to check why Asta wasn't sensing the Anti-magic in him stir. I was curious myself since the Anti-magic in his body comes from me, meaning his power is my power. That meant he should be feeling it fluctuate too, and yet he's not. Zeref took his hand of Asta and his face gained a look of surprise. He stated, "Asta, you're not feeling your power fluctuating because it's not Liebe's anymore." We were baffled by what he said and Zeref explained, "Your body is actually generating Anti-magic on it's own. It seems that being brought to this world had an unexpected effect on you. Your body appears to have mutated in such a way that you've begun to generate Anti-magic energy naturally. Though your contract with Liebe still exists, you can use Anti-magic even without him supplying it to you. As for the reason why your power is not resonating like Liebe's, I can't say for sure but it may have something to do that you're Anti-magic is produced by a human body while his is being generate from a devil's. I've honestly never seen anything like this before."

  This was indeed surprising, but it was strange that even though we both generate Anti-magic now, it wasn't the same because we're from different races. Though, I couldn't help but think if that was the case, it would support Zeref's theory that my power is resonating with something or someone demonic in nature. In our dimension, Devils and Demons are similar in nature since they both have magic from the underworld. So that may be the same case for the Demons of this world as well. So maybe I was resonating with a Demon. There was only one way to find out. "Let's get going, we need to find what or who my power is drawn to before they find us." I said to them and they nodded. With that, we began to trek across the island to search for what's causing my Anti-magic to stir.

  (???????? P.o.v.)

  I was with my little sister and two of my guild mates at our guild's camp making lunch for everyone who was taking the S-class Trials. We were chatting about who do we think would pass the test that year until I felt something inside me starting to act up. The others seemed to have noticed something was up with me and one of them asked, "Mira, are you okay?" I looked to see that it was a young woman my age with scarlet hair and brown eyes. Her name is Erza Scarlet.

 

 
"Oh I just have this strange feeling, that something is calling out to me." I answered. "Something calling you?" Asked a girl with white hair and blue eyes. My sister Lisanna Strauss.

 

   "Yeah, and it feels like it's slowly getting closer and closer to us. I don't know what it is, but it's causing my magic power to get agitated." I replied. "Perhaps we're not alone of Tenrou Island after all?" Said a blue haired woman with blue eyes. This is Juvia Lockser.

 

  (Ignore the umbrella)

  "If so, we should investigate. Mira you and Lisanna go and look for what you're sensing, me and Juvia will stay here to look after base camp." Me and my sister nodded and began to walk in the direction I was being drawn to. I thought, 'What is it that's drawing me out to the forest? And why is it calling me nonstop? Whatever it is, I just hope it isn't anything bad.'
