Warren
I'm pissed. That doesn't even come close to the way my veins are scorching in desire for revenge and violence. Rage clouds my mind like smoke and I can't see anything clearly except for the man who is responsible for all of it.
After hours, Aiden and Tristan managed to scrub the videos from street cams and find the face of the evil that attacked Evelyn.
The pathetic excuse of a man is married and has two kids. They live in a down-at-heel area, where the neighbours are more terrifying than the outsiders. After intense research, I figured out that the kids' mom works three jobs to provide for them. And their useless dad takes her money and buys drugs off of it.
As if I wasn't angry enough, now I'm boiling.
I ordered my security team to track him down and bring him somewhere outside the city. The last thing I want is for the law to get on my back, which is fucking useless when it comes to justice.
I have plenty of enemies. All of them are looking for opportunities to bring me down. I have to be discreet to conduct this business. Which is a first for me.
"Mr. Archer, your two PM is here. Should I let him in?" With a nod, Kenna scurries off.
Everyone in the office knows not to get in my way today. My mood is a ticking bomb.
Hartley enters the room. He's the head of the security team I hired Tristan from. He's helping me because I'm paying him a hefty sum.
"You look in a sour mood."
"More like bitter," I slide the folder his way.
Hartley takes the seat and then flips through the document. His eyes run over the photographs of the man.
"I want him." My voice comes out so sharp that his eyes look up at me instantly.
"I'll see what I can do."
My fingers curl over my desk as I imagine him stalling days. I need him now. I can't focus on anything when that fucking piece of shit is out there.
"How long will it take?" I have to remind myself that Hartley is neither on my payroll, nor is he my friend.
"A few days."
Goddammit.
"Why? Are you in a hurry?" The inquisitive expression with which he watches me straightens me in my chair.
Another thing that I've learned in business is, no one gets to see the real you. Your weakness is yours to protect because others will find ways to prey on it.
Evelyn is my weakness. The one spot where anyone can bring me to my fucking knees.
"Yes," I say.
"I'll try my best Warren," Hartley assures me with a confident nod and leaves.
Kenna enters the room and recites my schedule for the rest of the day. "You'll be free by ten."
Ten? I promised Evelyn that I'd be at her place in the evening. That's fucking night.
"Clear my schedule after four," I instruct and she sighs.
"I can't sir. You'll have a lot to overlook. Paris project. The meeting with Knight industries for steel shipment. Ms. Edith has also sent samples you want to in—"
"I want you to do as I said. Clear my schedule and fix a meeting with Rowan Verlice at five pm."
Fortunately, Kenna doesn't put up an argument and does as she's told.
