Jennie turned her head when she heard a familiar tune. Her phone rang. Jisoo unnie's calling. She signalled her manager and he moved forward to place the phone on her open palm.
"Unnie, could you give me a few minutes? I need to take this call." She asked.
The makeup artist and the stylist nodded their heads before leaving her alone.
"Hello?"
Silent.
"Hello? Chu..what is it? Is it about Lisa?" Jennie asked in a rush. Her body tensed.
She heard some muffled voices but again nothing.
"Chu! You better not play with me right now...." Jennie warned.
Before she could say anything further, Rose's voice now greeted her from the other side.
"Unnieeee....hi..."
"Rosie? Where's Jisoo? Why are you on her phone?"
"Erm....nothing's wrong unnie. Jisoonie needs to go to the toilet. She accidentally called you." The Australian replied in a nervous tone.
"Rosie...you know you are really a bad liar right?"
"Oh..really? Why do you say that? I'm totally telling you the truth right now..why am I purposely calling you using Jisoonie phone cause she hides mine, just to lie to youuuu??"
"You rambled the truth when you were lying, Rosie. And you are using your high tone. Now why are you calling me?" Jennie asked with a serious tone.
"So, the truth is....ow unnie...that hurts!"
Jennie heard muffled voices...and the phone being passed to another person.
"Hey, Jenduke? I saw your performance just now. You did good, girl. Congrats for winning another week!" Jisoo said excitedly.
Jennie sighed loudly. "That's not important right now. TELL me, Chu. I know something's wrong.."
"There's nothing wrong! Why do you always assume something is wrong?"
"The fact that you hid Rosie's phone..and did you hit her just now?"
"Heh...that's nothing. That's like how we played around. You know that." Jisoo explained. However, her tone was not convincing.
"Chu...you know I can totally call my dad to check on you guys, right? I could call him right this moment." Jennie threatened.
"No! No...I mean I could tell you. No need to disturb Mr Kim. I'm sure he's quite a busy man. So..... you know that we are here at the hospital with Lisa right?"
"Uh huh...out with it."
"Well, your dad came over for a visit. We had a small chat catching up and all that. Your dad said that she's on the right track. She is healthy enough and could leave here maybe in two days' time."
"I know all about that. My dad already updated me."
"Uh wow... Okay. That's good."
"Get to the point, Chu."
"Erm...so we thought hey! Then we called Lisa's parents to tell them. They were so happy! Cause it's good news! We decided we should celebrate. About your win and that Lisa could leave soon. So we ordered out. We ordered lots of chickin! After the chickens arrived we were eating it like usual right..so then you know how Lisa likes to eat the last wings? So yeah.... There's this situation where there's only one left. Then me and her grabbed it at the sametime. So Lisa said hey that since she's sick so she should get that. Then Rosie said that's not right. We should play games or something to decide who should be the winner. Then the winner gets the last chicken."
