Green Morning

Because his first class starts at nine, Seungmin decided to take his time in the bathroom again. The warm water feels nice, lifts the corners of his lips as he rests his eyes. Wonwoo had come five minutes after his alarm rang and Seungmin informed that he would eat breakfast a bit late today.

"Are you sure you will not have indigestion?" the butler had frowned and Seungmin had chuckled, "I'm sure. I just want to take my time for class. Yesterday was tough."

Wonwoo gave an understanding nod, "Please do not fall asleep in the bathtub, at least."

Recalling the concerned look on the butler when Seungmin playfully said 'can't promise', the younger laughed softly to himself, already feeling his energy building up for the day. After he was dressed, Seungmin picked up his bag and necessities before going out.

He was checking his phone notifications as he walked down the steps, almost passing Minho if not for the small greeting that Seungmin had to double take that it really did come from Minho and not from his imagination.

From the way the older is looking at him, eyes fleetingly scanning Seungmin's expression, the younger concluded that he really did receive a 'good morning' from his husband. Minho is in his house clothes, probably showered and ate already, the only thing left to do is change into his work clothes. Somehow, his chest hurts.

"Good morning, Minho-ssi."

Seungmin made sure he offered Minho a smile before continuing down the stairs, noticing the time is almost half past seven. He did not want to hold Minho back. As he expected, Wonwoo is waiting for him beside the table.

"Have you eaten?" asked Seungmin once he was seated. Wonwoo nodded in response and asked if the younger wants iced coffee to be packed for him. Seungmin delightfully clasped his hands, "Yes, please! The café near my building will be so crowded by the time I arrive."

Wonwoo was at the counter, making Seungmin's ice americano, "Everybody needs caffeine to survive."

"Totally," chuckled the younger. He took a big bite on his omelette before humming in satisfaction. "How are your classes?"

"Manageable. The professors are not very demanding, fortunately. Although online classes are indeed draining," Wonwoo head over to the table and set the iced coffee down. "Do you need anything else, young sir?"

Seungmin huffed, putting down his utensils just for emphasis, "I thought we're getting closer. I'm going to call you Wonwoo hyung from now on just to be annoying."

The past few days, Seungmin had started to drag Wonwoo to have casual chats with him. It is not that Wonwoo did not want to be comfortable with Seungmin but the fact that the younger is Lee Minho's husband, that makes Seungmin his employer too. He cannot just be casual during work, can he?

He was about to say something, when someone walked into the dining room. Noticing the way Seungmin briefly paused halfway from eating another spoonful of omelette, Wonwoo pursed his lips.

"Oh if it isn't my baby brother. Such a good morning, isn't it?"

"Is there anything I can help you with," Seungmin smiled, thinned lips, and eyes stern. Chan rolled his shoulders, fixing his flashy watch and hand accessories.

"I'm simply waiting for my wife to go to work together. Nothing you can help with, apparently."

If what he heard dampened his appetite, what he witnessed next spoiled it completely. Seungmin was just thankful he did not throw anything up from how nauseated he suddenly felt.

"There's my wife. Then we'll be going, Seungmin-ah."

White blouse tucked into black, straight cut pants. A black blazer lined with diamonds around the sleeves and neck, hanging over Minho's forearm. Black, heeled boots that put a few inches to his height, and the wavy brown locks neatly styled to flow freely. Minho looked nothing less than stunning in his work attire.

That's why he ate breakfast early, Seungmin willed the ends of his lips to stay upward as he gave a wave so as to say 'have a good day at work', instead of verbally because he doesn't trust his voice at the moment.

Minho faced him, ignoring Chan's insistent tapping of foot at the main door, and Seungmin wished he had gone to university already. The atmosphere felt...weird, to say the least. He felt weird. Why isn't Minho leaving already? And why does his chest ached again?

He cannot control the way his eyes wander fleetingly at Minho's glossed lips, at the perfectly curled ends of his hair, at his wrists adorned with shimmering bracelets, at the long eyelashes tickling his pinkish cheeks–

Then Minho turned away, walking out of his sight and failing to catch the crestfallen expression that was schooled faster than Wonwoo could avert his eyes away from.

The butler watched how Seungmin exhaled with his eyes closed before they opened and he painted a toothy smile, "I'm going first."

Making up his mind, Wonwoo decided it will not hurt him to make an exception. Surely, there is nothing for him to lose. So he sniffed, pushing his glasses up his nose bridge as nonchalantly as he can.

"Focus in class, Seungmin."

And the exception earned him a beaming response that warmed his previously aching chest, "Yes, I will, hyung!"
