Brave New World

Emily couldn't sleep that night, Damon's words got to her. What if Katherine is using her? What if she truly only saved her so she could have her use magic? What if she wasn't truly her friend?  All these thoughts travel around her head throughout the night until she finally manages to sleep.

The next morning she wakes up and goes to the living room, Katherine is there, drinking her daily dose of vervain. "Morning." She smiles. "Hi." Emily mutters, grabbing some vervain and drinking it. 

"What were you doing awake at 3am.?" Katherine asks. "What were you doing awake at 3am.?" Emily asks as well. "I asked first." She smirks. "I couldn't sleep. Your turn." Emily says. "I I turned the vampire we needed for the sacrifice." She smirks. "Who did you turn?" The redhead asks. "That blonde friend of Elena's, Caroline." Her friend replies. Emily smirks. "Can't wait for my brothers to find out." 

"Speaking of your brothers, Elena and her witchy friend Bonnie are organizing a school carnival and you're going as Elena's cousin." Katherine says. "What are you going to do?" Emily asks. "Make sure the blondie completes her transition." Katherine smirks. "Okay then, I'll go get dressed." Emily says and walks to her room, changing into a long sleeved blue blouse and a pair of low-rise black jeans before saying goodbye to Katherine and vamping to the school.

When she arrives , she takes a few minutes to look around trying to spot Katherine's stupid little doppelganger. She's with that witchy friend of hers. Emily walks over to them. "Hi." She smiles. "Hey, I don't mean to be rude or anything but who are you?" The witch asks. "I'm Jane, I'm new here, I was wondering if you knew someone that could show me around the school." She explains. "I can do it, Bonnie, take over for a bit?" The doppelganger says. "Sure." Bonnie smiles. 

"Follow me." Elena smiles at Emily and she nods. "Thank you." Emily smiles back and follows her inside the building. She shows her some corridors and classes before stopping in front of two boys, one of them is Stefan, the other one must be Elena's brother. "Jeremy, Stefan, this is a new student, her name is Jane." Elena says. "Hi." Jeremy smiles. Stefan just stares at his sister before vamping towards her and chocking her against the wall.

"Stefan what are you doing?" Elena asks. "Oh, believe me, her name's not Jane and she's certainly not a new student, that's Emily, my sister I was telling you about." Stefan says while choking her more. Emily mutters a few words under her breath and he falls to the ground yelling in pain, she stops a few seconds later.

"Well, in that case, unless you want to be exposed, I'm Elena's cousin who came for the weekend, that's what I told Tyler yesterday, that's the story we're going with." Emily informs them. 

"Or you simply leave before I rip your heart out of your chest." Stefan threatens. "Don't threaten me Stefan, unlike you I don't hold on to past feelings and I have no problem killing you." Emily says she knows this is a lie, she would never hurt her brother but that is something he doesn't need to know-for now. "Cousin, why don't we finish that school tour, just the two of us. Your brother can come too." She smirks. 

"I'll be back in a bit." Elena sighs. "Hurt her and I'll kill you." Stefan glares at Emily. "Whatever." She rolls her eyes and takes Elena's hand. "So, where are we going next?" She grins. "Follow me, Jane." She tries not to glare at her. "See, this is the first step to learning how to respect a vampire who's a century and a half older." Emily says as Elena shows her the rest of the school. 

"Jane!" Emily doesn't have to turn around in order to realize it's Tyler. "Hey, Tyler right?" She puts on a fake smile. "Yeah." He smiles back. "Hi Tyler." Elena smiles. "Hey Elena." He turns to look at her. "Elena, why don't you go find your friend, I'm sure she could use your help." Emily says wanting to be left alone with the soon-to-be werewolf.  Elena nods. "See you later." She mutters and leaves.
