Oh...wow...

Jo and Derek spent the rest of their day scrubbed into a surgery together.

"Hey Derek" she smiled as she walked into the OR. He looked to her for a moment. "It's Dr Shepherd" he said glumly.

She frowned. "Y-yes, sorry, Dr Shepherd". He walked behind the patient on the table. "Let's just do this" he mumbled before making a quick incision. It was just a simple craniotomy to remove a small tumour, only a few hours long surgery.

"So..." Jo said quietly, sensing he was in a bad mood. "How was D.C? I heard you're working for the president now" she smiled behind her mask.

He nodded. "Yes, and I wish I was there right now" he grumbled as he removed the skull flap. "Oh...well I'm sure you're happy to see Meredith again?" She asked carefully.

"Wilson." He snapped. "Focus on the surgery, not my personal life" he warned. She nodded quietly before looking up to the gallery, seeing Meredith watching them.

The surgery continued on for another hour in silence.

As he began closing up, he heard a load of commotion up in the gallery. His head shot up and frowned, trying to see what was happening.

"Derek" Jo said as she took the tools out of his hand. "What?" He asked cluelessly as he looked around. What is going on?

He looked back up and saw some interns lowering Meredith to the ground.

His heart dropped.

He bolted out the OR and sprinted upstairs to the gallery. "Move!" He ordered as he pushed through the gallery and crouched next to Meredith who was unconscious on the floor.

"Meri- Meri" he shook her. He pushed the hair away from her face. "Meri-" he said again. Her eyes fluttered open but she groaned.

"What's wrong?" He said frantically. He looked up to everyone. "Go on! Go back to work!" He ordered. Everyone departed the room but Jo rushed in.

"Derek, what do you need?" She said as she rushed down to help Meredith.

"Meri, what's wrong, what's happening?" He began to panic as tears involuntarily spilled from his eyes.

"I don't know. I-i- I'm dizzy. I feel sick. M-my chest hurts" she whispered. "Follow my finger" he said and she did so. "A bit of slow reaction there. Page the emergency room and Lexie"

"D-Derek" she grabbed his hand. "It's okay, I'm not going anywhere" he said before kissing her forehead. "You're burning up" he noted as sweat beaded on her forehead. She only nodded.

"What's happening?" She cried. "Shh- shh- don't get upset. We're going to get you sorted, okay? This could be anything"

"W-what if it's a bad reaction to the drug Nick gave me" Meredith suggested quietly as she closed her eyes to stop the dizziness.

He nodded. "It might be, but we're going to get this checked out, okay?" He said. "Do you think you can stand up?" He asked.

He helped her up and wrapped his arm under her to steady her as they began walking to the closest wheelchair or bed. "I feel like I'm going to be sick, Derek" she said.
"Okay, okay" he whispered as he laid her on the bed and grabbed a sick bucket.
