I woke up the next morning with a slight headache. Getting out of bed, there was a stinging feeling between my legs which reminded me of what had happened in the previous night. My heart clenched when everything began to flash back in my mind and what happened after we had sex, what Theo said. I figured he was hurt after I left him but never would I have thought just how much.

Flashback

"I hate you." We had just finished making love, if it could be called that. Theo finally pulled out of me and started putting on his clothes. I could hear the venom in his voice as he spoke and it broke my heart.

"I hate you so much Zuri. I hate how much pain I've felt ever since you left me. I hate that you took my son from me, I hate how much I want to hate you but I can't. I just hate everything."

"Theo-"

"No Zuri. I'm no longer going to feel sorry for myself. My flight leaves tomorrow afternoon and I'm taking my son with me, whether you are coming or not." He spoke not even sparing me a glance as he walked out of the bathroom and into the bedroom. He walked to the bed and leaned over kissing Avan on his forehead before he strolled towards the door.

"Make sure you pack his things and get him ready by then."

"Theo, please listen to me."  I pleaded with him. He stopped as he opened the door, still not looking at me. I saw him hesitate a while before he finally left closing the door behind him, with me standing on the other side naked and heartbroken.

End of flashback

I looked over at my baby and my heart didn't feel any less

heavy. The thought of not being around him made me wary. It is impossible for me to let him go alone, but the thought of seeing Theo's parents also terrifies me. Will they try to kill me? They seems really protective over Theo and I fear that it will bring harm to me.

I have to make a decision and fast.

30 minutes later

I stood outside Monique's door and knocked on it waiting on her to answer. It took a while but she answered the door looking as if she just woke up.

"Sorry did I wake you?"

"No, dat good man"

(No, that's okay)

She stepped aside and allowed me to enter, immediately taking Avan from me.

"How's my little munchkin doing?"

"I'm not doing great." She looked up at me with a raised eyebrow.

"Girl afta mi nah talk to yuh." And went back to playing with Avan.

(Girl it's not you I'm talking to)

"Theo is here." That made her finally look back up at me with her eyes widened.

Theo's POV

"I swear you never listen to me!" Here we go again.

I should've never told him that I went to see her lastnight.

"Come on Jeff give him a break, he missed his woman." Brad said which made me glare at him.

"Shut the f**k up Brad you don't know shit. I just wanted to see my son."

"See your son my foot, you went there to have sex with her bro stop lying." Dave finally spoke. He became very quiet since I mentioned that I went to see Zuri last night.

"I don't care what any of you say, I know my reason."

"Bullshit reason Theo, I told you we would talk to her today. Why did you go to her room?"

"I don't have to explain myself to you Jeff. Just know that tonight we will be leaving and I am taking my son with me." I told them and then took a swing of my beer.

"Is Zuri along too?"

"And why would I take her with me? She made it very clear before that she doesn't want me anymore. Besides she has a boyfriend." I stated causing them to shake their heads at me.

"You are dumber than you look." Brad pointed out. These so called friends of mine are really getting on my nerves.

"If you really think that Zuri is cheating on you, you are a very stupid idiot Theo. That woman loves you, though I don't know the reason she left, I'm sure it's a damn good one. Just hear her out will you. We know you're hurting and bad too because we have seen it first hand, but I think Zuri is hurting just as much. So you both need to sit and have a civilized conversation and work this thing out, because we are not leaving this country until everything is sorted."

I knew he was right. I mean it's Jeffery, when is he ever wrong though I will never admit that to him. It never occurred to me that there may be a reason why she left, well apart from her finding someone else. Did someone threaten her? Could that be it? I need to find out what really happen and apologize to her.

"Fine, I'll talk to her."

After a long conversation of what to and not to do, Jeff finally allowed me to leave the room to go talk to Zuri. I arrived at her door and after knocking for a while I realized she wasn't there, so I sat on the floor and waited.

What felt like and eternity later, Zuri finally showed up with a lady I've never seen before beside her.

"Yow, a who yuh?" She questioned turning her face up at me coming up closer to me as if she wanted to attack me.

(Hey, who are you?)

Avan looked over curiously and when he saw me he began to smile stretching his hands for me.

"Dada."

A shocked look came over all our faces. I imagine it's the first time he said that based on Zuri's reaction.

"Oh." The lady Zuri came with mumbled as she looked me up and down.

"Theo, I'm sorry but you can't take my baby away from me. I won't allow it." Zuri stated with a firm voice but I could see the fear in her eyes. I can't believe I actually thought of taking Avan away from his mother.

"It's okay Zuri, I'm not here to take him away, I.... I just want to talk." I explained to her but she just looked at me suspiciously.

After she share a look with her friend she finally turned back to me and nodded.

"Fine let's talk."
