autumn woke up, mouth as dry as the desert and her head pounding, but at least jimmy was still there. they were still interlaced in each other embrace; she had never woken up so comfortable before. she looked at him and stroked his cheek softy, he was so beautiful. she swallowed the lump in her throat. autumn cursed herself in her head, god she was so stupid. falling for a man living in 1952.
autumn chugged a glass of water and gave up on the day, she went back to bed right away. she immediately cuddled up to jimmy, wrapping her arms around his torso. autumn hummed contently as jimmy brought her closer in his sleep. she happily fell back asleep.
autumn woke back up to the feeing of someone stroking her hair. she would have never felt more at bliss if it wasn't for the massive headache that was threatening to slip open her skull.
"good morning." she whispered; eyes still closed not wanting to make her headache worse. the hand stopped mid-movement.
"morning." jimmy said and continued to stroke her hair, making autumn smile. she loved getting her hair played with, it was the best feeling. the spent the next hours like this, barely talking or moving. they were both so comfortable...and hungover.
when the headache started to clear, autumn opened her eyes to look at jimmy, who was already looking at her, with a stupidly cute smile on his face. they smiled at each other softly, neither of them looking away. autumn was about to say something to him when her vision suddenly started to blur.
no.
not now. please.
autumn tried to stop it but there was nothing she could do, she was zoning out. autumn fought as best she could, long enough to say one last thing to jimmy.
"i love you."
the last thing she saw was the look of pure confusion on jimmy's face.
autumn opened her eyes and she was in the middle of the woods. she was surrounded by trees, no road in sight.
great.
she cursed under her breath and hoped waking up in the woods wasn't going to start being a theme because the last time really wasn't fun. almost being sawed in half... autumn shuttered at the thought.
autumn thought of jimmy, all alone in her trailer. he was probably so confused, this poor man. god. she swallowed the lump in her throat and tried her best not to break down crying. autumn's biggest regret was not kissing jimmy the night prior, she was so stupid. she knew he loved her back, it was so obvious. jimmy was going to be heartbroken, he deserved so much better. her heart broke, for him and for herself, autumn might never see him again. tears started to spill but she shakily wiped them.
autumn couldn't think about this now, she had to find a road or something, anything other than the woods. she really did not want to get stuck alone in the woods at night.
autumn walked for a few minutes with no sign of life, at all. she called out in the woods, hoping someone would hear her, but no answers so far. at least the sun was still high in the sky.
autumn heard a sound coming from behind her. she quickly turned around, nothing. autumn then heard a terrifying growl coming from her left. her heart was beating rapidly in her chest and she quickened her steps, not wanting to cross paths with whatever that growl came from. fast footsteps could be heard from behind her and autumn turned back around. she screamed at the sight before her and took of running in the opposite direction.
what the fuck.
autumn ran for her life. literally. behind her was a monster. she didn't get the best of looks because well... she was a bit busy trying not to get killed. the thing had a human body but it was deformed, its face was terribly disgusting, body covered in blood and... god it was so fast. it was running after her is if it wanted to eat her.
