======= Shopping district 15:40 pm =======
"so does this mean we're dating now??" You ask excitingly while holding your bag of gifts
"No it doesn't" he responded
"WHAT?!?! Why not??"
He immediately covered your mouth, you both were in the middle of a small open mall shopping for gifts to give your and Ganyu's family members for the holidays so your screaming definitely attracted the attention of passers by "Keep your voice down!" he looked up at you to find you on the verge of tears, obviously you were being dramatic about it so he just sighed
"I don't want to rush into things, I want to do this right you know?" you tilted your head to the side in confusion "I want to... properly confess and go out with you on dates..and stuff" his face was practically steaming by how embarrassed he was
You on the other hand were all giddy, never could you imagine that Xiao of all people would be this little romantic thing, no one that you had met has treated you like this you simply got behind him and hugged him, though you couldn't see it, he was smiling at your action. The way your touch felt to him was amazing, almost heavenly and it would definitely be something he would cherish forever.
"I absolutely LOVE couples doing couples things but we've gotta go, don't wanna miss aunt Cloud's afternoon tea" Hu Tao peeked up from behind you
You four had made plans to visit family as soon as the trip to Liyue was confirmed, your, Hu Tao and Ganyu's family have always lived close by ever since you were little, hence why the three of you became friends in the first place. Your mind started to drift off to your childhood memories, little you playing in your backyard while your mother weaved silk to sell and when Ganyu's mother came by to gift you chocolate chip cookies and little Ganyu hidden behind her (btw you don't actually remember all this, these are just stories that Ganyu's mom tells you), thinking about Ganyu's family made you realize something that made you panic instantly
'Holy shit I'm probably going to meet Xiao's parents!'
You started entering full panic mode, your brain made use of your amazing ability to overthink and started imagining every negative outcome possible that could come with you meeting Xiao's family
'What if they think I'm not feminine enough?'
'What if I say something improper?'
'What if they're like super elegant and think I'm some sort of peasant???'
"Y/n?" Your attention was caught by Xiao's voice, he had opened the car door and was looking at you with worry "Are you okay love?"
You felt your cheeks heat up at the petname he gave you and you felt a little reassured "I'm just worried.."
"About what?"
"What if I embarrass myself horribly in front of your family??" You said looking up at him earning a chuckle from him
"Just trust me okay?" You nodded and took his hand, you grabbed your bags full of gifts and followed Ganyu and Hu Tao, the 'family meeting' was taking place at Ganyu's mom's house, Aunt Cloud, as you'd call her
The door bell rung and moments later the door opened to reveal a tall woman with dark blue hair and a pair of red glasses greeting all of you with a smile "My! Hu Tao, Y/n and Xiao! It's been too long since you last visited, oh- come in, come in I've made tea"
You entered the fancy house to be greeted by a voice you were way too familiar with "N/N!!!!" The short, young, blue haired boy ran to you as you picked him up making him fly around a bit
"Yun!! Holy sh-smokes! You've grown so much!" He smiled sheepishly
"Aunty Shenhe says I've grown 4 and a half inches!" You ruffled his hair sending him a grin
"Speaking of which where is- AAAAAH" you were cut off by arms hugging your waist from behind and lifting you up, that suffocating grip belonged to none other then your Aunt Shenhe, the one who's been taking care of your brother Chongyun.
"How's collage life?" She questioned with a small smile plastered onto her lips
"Shitty"
"Hey! You said I couldn't say that word!" Chongyun pouted at Shenhe who only laughed in response
"You have to wait until you're 21 to say curse words Yun"
"And how long will that take?" He questioned as you did small math counting on your fingers (idk how to math and I don't trust anyone who knows)
"11 years little man" he stood there with his mouth dramatically hung open, Chongyun was really shy when it came to other people but around you and Shenhe he was this little ball of energy, you couldn't believe he turned 10 years old this year.
You finished your small talk with your brother and aunt and stepped into another room where Ganyu, Hu Tao and Xiao were greeting more people. One of which you identified as Hu Tao's Grandfather, another old lady stood beside him and behind her stood Xiao being pinched by a tall lady with long brown locks and a guy who was wearing an apron getting things out of the fridge.
As you came closer to greet grandpa Hu, the old lady caught sight of you and gestured for you to come closer, she took a good look at you and held your hand while smiling "You're M/n's daughter aren't you? You've grown so much!"
