The Arrangement (BTS MYG x ofc, complete!)

Goodbye

Soo Ah sits with her packed luggage in the living room, and she's ready to go when the driver and Jongdae arrive. Yoongi is watching her nervously toy with the zipper on the carry on bag he gave her, and he smiles, sensing her fears.

"Do you feel ready for the real acting to begin?" he asks and she looks up at him, momentarily distracted from her worry about travel, and being in a foreign country and now worried about whether or not she can act this part believably. "You will have to be my girlfriend in front of the members, the staff, and that includes Jongdae who will be here in about..." He glances at his phone. "10 minutes." She swallows hard and he fights the smile at making her more nervous about her part, but at least she's not still thinking about being nervous for the trip.

She takes a deep breath, and reminds herself that she can do this. She's going to do this well, she's sure of it. She feels prepared. Despite those negative thoughts that come on in the middle of the night when she's weak and insecure, she's going to play this part perfectly, and make him happy. It's a dream job, and it's worth doing it right. She smiles up at him, her confidence returning.

"I have spent several days studying the real you, and I am prepared." His eyebrow arches as he stares at her, wondering if her confidence is valid.

"Oh yeah? What do you know about me then? Describe me," he challenges. He sits back casually on the sofa to hear her response. She smiles politely as he settles in to hear her version of Min Yoongi.

"I know that you are kind and caring. That you're funny in that sort of wicked sense of humor way, the way some people think you're hilarious, but others, don't even realize you're being funny. I know that you're smart, but in the way that really matters, like life smart. You've seen a lot, it hasn't always been easy for you. Sometimes it's been painful but you bury that deep inside."

He shifts in his seat, a little uncomfortable, worried about what she might say, and how it might make him feel, but still wanting to hear more. He stares at her intently and it feels a little like performing a monologue at an audition, she knows he's watching her every move, studying her. But she's done this a hundred times, and she knows just how to draw his eye with a wave of her hand or a half smile as she thinks of all of the things she's learned, and the things that surprised her about him.

"I know that you're clever and bold. You take risks, and you work hard. Those are qualities that make you rise above others. You love the attention but I also know that sometimes, you sacrifice yourself for your work, and feel smothered by the attention."

"You get all that from a few days? Am I that transparent?" he jokes as he laughs uncomfortably. He doesn't think she will continue but there is more she wants to share.

"You like to be silly and soft, and warm, but you are also dark and moody, and it can be intimidating. You use it as a defense to keep people away from the real you, so no one gets close enough to hurt you."

He stares hard at her, feeling a burn of embarrassment. It isn't easy to hear her list all of these inner qualities and his own vulnerability. It's hard to hear because he knows it's all right and she really does get him, all of him, at least all of him that she's seen so far. There's more, and maybe she will have a hard time with the other parts of living with him. But maybe, she's ready for them.

"Shit!" Is all he can manage to say in response. She's pleased with herself, and feels in his outburst, a kind of acceptance, and in the acceptance, he's admitting that she's right. A moment passes between them as they stare at each other from across his dark sofa, a moment that feels unpunctuated, incomplete. She can tell there are a dozen thoughts lighting up his mind as he struggles to find the right thing to say or do next. She smiles wondering, if he was a real boyfriend, how this moment would end.
