The next morning we headed out to the cabin Kayne and Diane found. As we approached I could smell something familiar. Whoever that other beast was it was here.

Diane followed me closely as we approached the cabin. As we approached the door opened. A man stood in the doorway.

"You must be the one Luke was complaining about. I'm Ray, it's nice to meet you" he said introducing himself before any of us could say a word. It felt like he had been waiting for us.

"Rem, very nice to meet you," I said acting upon the politeness I was always taught. "This is Diane, Kayne, and my brother Emile"

"Who are you talking to Ray?" An angry voice came from inside the house. "And why do I smell something familiar"

A second person popped into view. "You!" He exclaimed before Ray moved to block him.

"Now now Luke, we have guests let them be," Ray said shoving Luke backward. He appeared to be trying to calm him down.

All the hairs on my body stood up, including my newly shorter hair. The fall made my hair unsalvageable and Diane helped me cut it. I will miss my long hair.

"I can smell his fear!" Luke practically screamed at Ray, "let me kill him" he was so angry and ready to hunt I could feel it.

I calmed myself down, "I would like to talk to you two, we are a part of the same prophecy" I hoped Luke would be fine if we entered the house.

Unfortunately, Emile burned the only evidence we had to prove this.

"Let's talk then," Ray said moving aside from the door. Luke appeared to be upset by this but let us enter anyways.

The air was tense but calm. "I know what prophecy you are talking about," Ray said as he sat down at the table. "The one about the beast and the brother"

"Yes, do you have a cure?"

"Sort of," Ray said looking at Luke who sat in the living room facing away from us. "Less a cure more a way to control it. Luke is just angry right now. He doesn't like having his territory invaded"

"I can see that," I said rubbing the scar on my throat. "Can you repeat the process again?"

"I might be able to" he sounded unsure, but I have to trust him seeing that he knows what he was talking about.

"Whatever we need I can get it, our parents gave me their company and I have plenty of money to spare," Emile said looking Ray dead in the eyes.

"We won't need money, I have everything we need," he said, "we just need to head into the basement is all. Promise we have no traps or bad things down there. Well maybe a bear trap, but it came with the house"

It all seemed sketchy, if they were aware of the curse and had a cure why did they not seek out the next in the line? And they didn't even look like brothers.
