LENNON was barely out of the car when Steve caught her eye. The place Eddie was hiding at, where they were about to meet him, used to be where the former couple would go to in case of emergency. Which meant that Steve's parents were in town, something that didn't happen that often, or just whenever they didn't have space for themselves. It was a secluded area in the woods, a rock that looked all too similar to a skull. Therefore, named Skull Rock. He had been sending her sneaky glances all over the car ride, as if they had a secret nobody knew about. Nancy wanted to laugh out loud at that, hiding a small smirk as she drove next to a nervous Lennon. Now, she looped their arms together, with Robin on the other side of her as they followed Dustin and Steve.

Before them, the pair wouldn't stop bickering. So, the rest walked slowly so they didn't get caught in between. Nancy winked playfully at Lennon, finding amusement in her nervousness. The redhead herself didn't know why she felt that way, maybe because it brought back memories she wished to forget. Or at least, to leave behind. Steve tho, seemed almost eager to be there. Because, while she ignored the memories, he wanted to drown in them. Maybe then, she would grab his hand to save him from the past. Trying not to think too much of that, he said to Dustin for the millionth time, "Dude, I'm telling you, you're taking us the wrong way."

"It's north. I'm positive. I checked the map." The boy replied as he held out the map, while his right hand held a compass his eyes were glued to.

"You do realise that Skull Rock, it's like a super popular make-out spot?" Steve remarked.

"Yeah. So?" Dustin replied, done with the conversation.

"Yeah, well, it wasn't popular until I made it popular." At Steve's words, a smile smirk grew on Dustin lips.

"You mean, you and Lennon, made it popular." He said smugly, shocking Steve as he realised he knew about it.

Shaking his head to himself, because obliviously Dustin, the genius, knew, he continued, "All right? We practically invented it." Dustin raised his eyebrows as he took notice of the change from I to we "We're heading in the wrong direction."

Dustin furrowed as he walked away "Steve. Where are you going?"

"Stop whining." He said as Dustin called his name again, "Let's go. Come on. Trust me."

Behind them, Lennon rolled her eyes. Robin chuckled, shaking her head, "What's up with those two?"

Lennon shrugged while Nancy snickered, "Dustin took dad's side on the divorce." Lennon laughed sarcastically, as their friends had often joked that Steve was the mom and she was the dad.

"Not funny." The redhead deadpanned, glancing over her shoulder to see her sister and Lucas sharing a meaningful look. She smiled softly, turning forwards as Robin spoke again.

"Oh. Oh, my god. They're so adorable. I just wanna squeeze 'em, you know?" Robin said, making Nancy smile as Lennon chuckled softly "If I'm permitted to see a silver lining in any of this end-of-the-world doom and gloom, it would be the rekindling of some old flames that never should've been snuffed out." She said suddenly, making Nancy and Lennon share a look before turning to her blankly. Robin felt bad for her best friend, Steve, who she knew was still deeply in love with Lennon. Seeing as there was a possibility of her dying, she couldn't understand how they weren't all over each other. Just in case. Apparently, the other two girls didn't share in her thoughts as they gaped, "I didn't mean that as a hint or anything."
