"... because I knew something would happen if you two shared a room." Steve laughs as we come out of the elevator and walk down the hallway with all of the bedrooms we pass
"Listen, I didn't know everyone knew we already shared a room." I defend my past, brainwashed self. "I thought he was being nice and keeping me safe when I went to a state I was unfamiliar with at the time." I reminisce about the first time Bucky and I had sex again
"Oh, he was. Trust me." He nods. "He was also trying to slide in there." He rats out his friend
"Me too." I shamelessly shrug. "He was the hottest out of all of you." I say and he scoffs
"Biased." He accuses
"I couldn't remember any of you." I remind him and set my hand on the doorknob of the nursery
"Whatever, dolly." He sighs with a small smile
"You're just mad, Stevie." I laugh and open the door where I cut off Bucky and Sam's conversation when they both pause and look up before standing from their bent over figures
"Look, babydoll!" Bucky smiles and holds his hands out in a presenting motion. "All of our baby's stuff is here!" He motions to everything happily but my eyebrows furrow when I see so many cardboard boxes stacked in different organizes piles
"Why are they in boxes?" I ask as I walk in and take Steve's coat off to give back to him since it is a bit warmer in here
"They thought that breaking them down and putting them in bubble wrap packaging would prevent wood chips and possible damages on the long drive back so Steve and I have to build them but your rocking chair is built." He proudly steps aside to show me the dark oak colored rocking chair that has a modern twist on the forties style he wanted
"Oh!" I gasp when I see the word 'Mama' cut out in cursive along the top of the back piece with two hearts surrounding my name. "James." I frown a smile and walk over with his hand coming to hold mine
"Careful, my beautiful." He smiles and helps me step over some boxes. "Do you like it?" He asks excitedly
"I love it." I correct him and give him a big hug he returns just as warmly. "Thank you, my favorite love." I whisper in his chest
"Always, my best girl." He kisses the top of my head. "Would you like to sit and try it out?" He holds his hand out and I nod
"Of course." I step carefully to the side and turn to grab the polished handles as I slowly sit with Bucky's hands under my one arm
"I also got cushion covers in case the wood gets too uncomfortable for you." He says as I sit but I sigh and immediately start rocking when my feet press into the carpet
"Don't need them." I mumble and hold my bump as my eyes close but I open them to see Bucky, Steve, and Sam all smiling at me. "He really likes it." I murmur
"Then you can stay there while we build the crib first." He smiles and bends down to give me a kiss on my lips while his hand slips under the both of mine so he can greet his baby
"Actually, I have something for you guys." Steve stops us and I look at him with confusion as my head tips to the side. "I promise it's good but it's in Buck's room." He says and Bucky glances down at me
"My curiosity is already killing me." I say and stand up easily from the chair which I like as well and make sure to mention it to Steve who helps guide me back over to his area of the room
"Sam, can you open the crib box and find the instructions?" Bucky asks as he follows Steve and I down the hallway to his room. "It'll only be a second." He adds
