I sat in the hall of the school where all the assemblies were held, and I waited for the principal to announce whatever she was announcing.
I looked around the hall filled with juniors, seniors, freshmen, etc. After another while of looking, I saw Alexander and Alessandro talking to each other. They looked around the room as if they could feel my gaze on them until their eyes met mine as I smiled and waved at them. They did the same back.
This was a school combining university assembly. That's why they were here.
I then looked at the people I snapped at the other day as they sat quietly in their sit, looking down at the ground. Since that day, Troy and Romeo have not said anything to me at all, which, I admit, did make me a bit sad, but I decided to brush the feeling off. They did not want to make amends, so be it. I am not going to force them.
I saw Samuel as well. He looked back at me as he smiled a bit – which was the first smile that I had seen since yesterday – and I did the same. He was a bit annoyed since it was Friday, the day of the party that he didn't badly want me to go to.
But whatever.
I felt a presence beside me and saw Theodore sitting. I looked at him in surprise as he hadn't been here for the entire week. I cleared my throat and pocked him like he usually does to me, but all he did was look at me for a split second before turning back, completely ignoring me.
I looked confused and hurt as I turned around and looked back at the stage, asking myself why he was not being his usual and irritating self.
He has been distancing himself since Travis, which was weird. I was about to say something, but the principal came towards the stage, making all of us stand up. We then began singing all the anthems. After that was done, the principal began announcing through the microphone.
"Good afternoon to all the students and teachers. I would first like to apologize for this assembly being held on such short notice. Anyway, let's get to the announcements I called all the guys for. Since it has been over a month since school started, all the sports clubs will be starting. The list that I am about to say is the selected sports for this year based on votes from last year the old student council had organized. They are basketball, soccer, football, track, swimming, netball, baseball, cricket, archery, and volleyball. It will be held next week if you want to try it out. All the seasons will be held in October and November of this year and January to August of next year.
The next thing I would like to speak about is the other clubs I can join. If you are music clubs – that you have created –, then the music rooms are open to use starting from Monday after school. There are other clubs to join, from reading to digital technology. The lists will be given to you by the end of today, so fill them up and give them to me. You have to choose at least one, and the maximum is three.
