"Before we go out to the fields where other schools are waiting," Our principle paused for a minute. "I want to announce some things. Firstly, congratulations on all the exams. I looked through some grades and a lot of you guys did really well this year. Secondly, I want to mention that the Winter Formal for Juniors and Seniors are coming up really soon so get your suits and dresses ready! Now let's go win the sports day!"

We all cheered in excitement before I went towards my friends who were all waiting for me. I looked at my watch and saw I had ten minutes until I was up for archery.

"Good luck guys," I said, smiling at them.

"Good luck to you too! We will surely be there to see yours!" Jane said and Emily nodded. I thanked them before I headed to the section where I saw other schools preparing for archery along with my teammates. I saw my coach, calling out the names to see who was here and who was not.

"Lastly, Ariana!" She shouted as I sat down beside Amy and Joseph, some of my teammates and friends as well. Amy is in sophomore while Joseph is in senior.

"Here Coach!" I said, setting my bow aside. She nodded her head before marking something on her sheet and leaving it aside.

"Listen up everyone!" Coach Anderson said, quieting everyone down in the club within a few minutes.

"Here starts the pep talk," Joseph mumbled. Amy and I sighed. I think every sports coach does this before a match.

"This is our first-time taking part in this sport. After looking at all of you guys which I personally selected, I don't expect any disappointment." She paused for a minute before continuing. "I've seen the dedication, hard work, and passion for the sport. Remember, it's not just about hitting the bullseye. It's about discipline, focus, and pushing your limits. I know all of you can do it!"

We all clapped our hands before getting up and getting ready. After I arranged my gloves, I waited for my other team members to do their rounds. After a while, Coach Anderson called my name out making me get back up from my previous sitting place and running over.

"Good luck kid. I know you will do good," She firmly said making me nod my head in short appreciation and determination.

I did the trick shots and all the shots needed as the judges spoke to them out. Larson, one of the from West Highschool, was one of my competitors and he was, admittedly, very good as compared to the other schools. But I couldn't let that thought get to me. As the rounds progressed, the score became even so the last trick shot needed to be played. Larson played it and got pretty close to the bullseye, earning 8.5 points from the judge as shown on the sign.
