"You ready to go?" Cairo asks as she, Emma, Talia, and Christen walk into my hospital room here in New York.
Once I got to the hospital last night, I had an MRI and a CT Scan which revealed I only have a bruised back and a grade 2 concussion.
The doctor said I'll be out about a week.
And the reason I say only is because the team doctor said he thought my spine may have been broken and I could have had a broken skull or a brain bleed.
My friends are here because after I was wheeled off the court, Cairo used her plane to fly from LA to New York to bring me home.
Thankfully she only brought Emma, Talia, and Christen with her.
I say thankfully because I feel like if Kara came then I'd try to put on a brave face in front of her and not express my emotions.
I feel like I'm close to being able to express my emotions with Kara, but not yet.
"Um." I say as I look at my legs. "I'm a bit wobbly."
"Why do you think we're here?" Emma questions then she and Talia flex.
"Alright you two." Christen says. "Put the guns away so we can help Moon."
"Boo." Emma and Talia say then they help me up.
Once I'm on my feet, Emma and Talia wrap an arm around me then we start walking, but we only make it a few feet before I run out of breath.
"I think I'll take that wheelchair now." I say.
"It's waiting out in the hall." Emma says.
"I got it." Cairo says then she wheels in the wheel chair.
"Thank fuck." I mumble then I get helped into the wheelchair.
Once in the wheelchair I put on the sunglasses and hat that Christen brought as Luna climbs into my lap then I hold my doggy, zone out, and relax.
"Thank fuck you have a jet bridge." I hear Emma say causing me to tune in.
"Wha?" I say then I see I'm being wheeled onto Cairo's big ass plane. "How'd we get here?"
"Well we wheeled you out of the hospital, got you into a car, and brought you here." Talia says as she wheels me into the plane.
"Oh." I mumble.
Once on the plane, I get wheeled to one of the state rooms then I let go of Luna and get on the bed.
When I get on the bed, I look at my friends.
"Will you stay until I sleep?" I ask.
"Of course." Christen says then she, Emma, and Talia get on the bed.
"I'll go tell the pilot we're ready when she is." Cairo says then she leaves the stateroom with her service dog Koda
"Luna I think Mommy's gonna need some snuggles." Emma says then my service dog hops up onto the bed.
"Hi Luna." I mumble as I look at my doggy.
