Psychologist Zareya Von klene stood horrified by the sight in front of her. Between the five of them they were all incompetent in caring for the poor young girl.
As soon as she left the airport she went to pick up some things for the girl before making her way to the given address.
She mentally thanked herself that she arrived when she did. Before they could cause even more trauma to the poor girl."I'm Zareya, the psychologist. Please someone tell me why on earth the poor child is in such a state."
"Ma'am she has been like this since yesterday. She does not like when we are near her.""Well first of all you should have not put that jumper in her. It caused her to panic and she is now frantic."
The woman spoke as she entered the small cage. She got down in her hands and knees not caring about her expensive suit being dirtied. Slowly she approached the girl and assisted her to get the jumper off before she moved back to sit against the side of the cage.Sienna was confused as to why this person had helped her. The person was in her room but wasn't saying the bad words. What was going on. Unable to predict what would happen next, Sienna growled at the woman.
"Ma'am please get out of there, did you not see what she did to Ms Hain?"
"I saw very well however Ms Hain seems to care less about the child herself and more about how she will benefit from this case."The officers silently agrees with what was said and didn't say much after that.
Sienna stayed away from Zareya but kept a close eye on her. They stayed like this for hours.
Sienna scrunched up in her corner and Zareya simply sitting against the wall trying to portray her lack of malice.
Not once did Zareya move or get up, she stayed still, trying to get the girls trust. She knew it would not happen instantly but it would be a good way to start. When it was time to eat again, Tage brought in the food for the two girls in the cage. She gave it all to Zareya and then left.
Zareya set the food out, making it look welcoming for the girl before she began to eat her own all whilst trying to ignore her churning stomach at the horrid surroundings.
Sienna watched Zareya as she used a spoon to eat her rice. Another thing that the young girl had never seen before. The meal consisting of rice and Vegetables was slid over towards Sienna. She hesitated before she picked up her spoon and watched how Zareya used it before trying to herself.
She picked the spoon up and put it into the bowl of rice before picking it up again and putting it in her mouth. Although she had little control of her motor movements, she was doing a good job.Sienna again saved majority of her food and kept it in her corner with everything else she had been given.
Zareya took note of this and began to think of a strategy."Tage, please pass me the bag I came in with." The psychologist requested.
Tage did as was asked and watched curiously to see what was inside. Sienna was also interested and focuses her attention on the bag. Was it a bad thing?"Sienna look," Zareya began as she pulled out the soft material of a silk night gown, "it's nice see."
The woman stroked the material on her face and pushed it closer towards Sienna to see if she would copy. Sienna picked up the material but quickly dropped it. She was shocked by the softness of the material.
Picking it up again, the girl brought it to her face and let out the softest hum if approval. Everyone noticed this and kept a record. Sienna likes silk.Zareya pulled out another thing from the bag. It was a grey elephant teddy.
"Sienna do you want this?" She asked as she held it out to the girl.
Sienna was still hesitant but she wanted the toy. She crept towards the woman and reached out a single finger to touch the teddy before withdrawing faster than Zareya could blink.
"It's okay, you have it."
Zareya again urged the girl to take the item but sienna didn't.
Instead she turned towards the entrance of the cage and approached there Tage stood.
Unsure of what the girl was going to do, everyone stayed still and slowly stepped out of her way.Sienna crawled around the floor not caring for the puddles of waste and blood.
She was looking for her thing. The only thing she had.She dug around near the upturned crib and paused as she found what she was looking for. She retrieved the item and held it in her mouth as she made her way back to her cage.
This was the first time the girl had left her caged room so the officers were shocked and stood still watching for what she may do. As she approached her room she saw Tage talking to Zareya. Sienna did not like this.
They young girl approached the officer and growled at her before pouncing into an attack.
"Hey." Zareya called gently trying to get the girls attention.
The sound of the soft voice got the girls attention and she stopped scratching the officer.
She crawled back towards Zareya and dropped her item just a few feet away from her.Zareya looked over the dirt covered fraying bear and smiled. Sienna was smart.
"Good girl, is that your teddy? He's lovely." She spoke as the others were keeping a record of everything. The psychologist placed the soft elephant next to the old bear and waited to see the girls reaction.
Sienna picked up both toys and took them to her favoured corner of the room before she turned back towards the older woman.
They stayed sitting in the small room for hours, the psychologist trying to form a small level of trust with the girl so they could create a plan on how to move forward. Throughout the constant one sided conversation she learnt that Sienna knew her name.
At around 3pm Zareya stood for the first time in hours. Her movement made the young girl flinch and cower into her corner. Was she bad, she had through to herself.
Zareya made to leave the room as she wanted to speak properly with the others.Sienna did not like that at all.
Just as Zareya left the barred door sienna let out a loud squeal, it almost sounded like an upset whine.
She thought she was going to be left again. Locked up with nothing. Again.Noticing the girls upset the psychologist decided to sit just outside the door. This would show the girl that she was not leaving.
"Officers, I would like to get her out of here but we need a solid plan. I do not want to upset her or make her feel stress but it is likely if we just move her out of here she will become distraught."
"I agree ma'am, we could sedate her and take her out?"
Marcus offered."No, when she awakes she would be in distress of an unfamiliar environment. I have my car outside but it is likely she won't like that very much either. We cannot tell her level of trauma but from what I have assessed just from today she has experienced some awful things, she has the mental state of an infant. Judging from the surroundings, she has no level of hygiene and I would not be surprised if she had a number of diseases." The psychologist explained.
"Well what can we do? I doubt she will leave willingly."
"She seems to like you ma'am, maybe you could lead her out of here?"
Marcus and Taylor added in to the conversation. They all agreed that their best bet of getting Sienna out of there in a way that would not further impact her mental state would be to lead her out and try to keep her calm.
