Doctor waters had explained whilst preparing the girl for the procedure that it was an exploratory surgery meaning they did not know what they may find or what they may have to do if the infection had spread.

With this thought in her mind, Zareya watched as the girl was taken down to the operating room.

She started to tidy around the room, preparing it for when the girl would be back in it. Of course it wasn't a major surgery but she still worried for her, especially how she would cope after waking up.

Just as she was about to tidy the bathroom she noticed something hanging out of the bin, it was Siennas bear. She instantly knew who had put it there which only made her anger towards the social worker grow.

She removed the fragile item and left it in the bathroom. She wouldn't wash it yet, she'd wait for the girl to be awake and able to understand what was happening to her only belonging.

She continued to tidy the bathroom until she hears the familiar tone of her phone ringing.

"Hello, Miss Von Klene?"

"Speaking."

"Hello, I believe we spoke earlier regarding the current case you are working in partnership with Miss April Hain?"

"Yes, did you receive the footage?"

The psychologist spoke to the man for just over an hour. The conversation concluded with Miss Hain being taken off of the girls case and a new social worker being appointed.

"Thank you for your time ma'am."

Checking the time after the call had cut off Zareya realised how long it had been and instantly became worried. Surely it should not have taken an hour.

The woman decided to update her paperwork whilst she waited.
So far she had detailed records on the child and was ready for the upcoming meeting she had scheduled for a few days time which would allow everyone to understand the girls situation.

Soon after she had filed everything back away, the double doors opened and sienna was wheeled in on her bed. It was not usual protocol but the doctor had agreed that the child needed to wake up in a familiar environment.

"Doctor waters," Zareya acknowledged the man, "how did it go."

"Well as you know it was experimental, we didn't know what to expect to find but it seems that she got lucky, it was a deep flesh wound. The infection hadn't spread from the areas just beneath the skin but we did check her surrounding organs as a 'just in case' using a small internal camera which is why it took longer. She will be just fine when she wakes up, we cleaned it out and stitched it up properly so hopefully it's more comfortable for her."

"Thank you, when will she wake up?"

"We've given her a medication to start waking her up, so within the next hour I'd say."

The team of nurses and doctor waters made sure everything was as it should before leaving the room for the girl to rest.

Like the doctor had said, the girl began to wake up within the hour. Wanting her to feel comfortable after being sedated and poked at, the psychologist had made sure all of the girls newly favoured items were within her reach.

However the sight of the treasured items did nothing to calm the frantic child.
Sienna had woken up and jumped abruptly at the strange feeling of a heavy head.

Did someone do bad?

Noticing the wires attached to her, she began to panic more. The girl summoned all of her strength to fumble and grab at the wires, frantically trying to pull them off. However with the sedation just waring off she found it quite difficult.

"No! No, no, darling keep that on; you need that, it's helping you," the psychologist hurries to stop her, tugging gently on her hands.

Just now realising the good person is with her, sienna relaxes slightly. She watches the woman as she moves around the bed collecting up her favourite things.

"Here you go sweetie," she says softly whilst putting the old and new stuffed animals onto the girls lap "we've been waiting for you."

Still confused by everything, the little girl just sits staring at the woman. She didn't understand why this person wasn't bad but she liked that the person was good. She gave her soft touches, not the hurting ones like the bad people did.

Wanting to feel comfort at that moment Sienna groggily let out a small whine which startled the woman.

"What's wrong lovely, are you hurting?" The woman knew she wouldn't get an answer but decided to buzz for a nurse to check on her, just in case.

When the nurse entered the room Sienna once again began to panic, these people were not nice. She immediately reached for the psychologist wanting to be held however the woman didn't understand and just held onto the girls hand.

"Shh, shh, you're okay sweet girl, the nurse is going to help you feel better."

The nurse has a short conversation with Zareya whilst she increases the dose of pain medication before leaving very quickly.

"See all done now."
Sienna was still not happy. She wanted the woman to hold her. She pulled her hand away from zareya before reaching out towards her with both arms.

"Oh, sorry darling I didn't understand. You can have a cuddle sweet girl."

The psychologist sits down on the bed next to the small girl and very carefully lifts her into her lap. Sienna quickly makes herself comfortable on top of the woman and burrows her face into the woman's neck whilst holding a firm grip on the collar of her shirt.

After a few minutes of quiet the girl whines again before she begins to subtly move herself backward and forward in the woman's arms. Taking the hint, zareya situates them both under the covers before slowly rocking back and forth.

"There is that better hm?" The woman whispers as she slowly rocks the girl back into a deep sleep.
