It was the day of lo'ak and neyteyams celebration, the people would gather around a fire in home tree as the olo'eyktan raised a dagger, symbolically showing how they were reborn as warriors. People had been rushing in and out of the sullys hut all day, all with different head peices and paints. Even though reyna and lo'ak were not currently speaking she couldnt help but feel proud, soon her father disturbed her thoughts calling her in from inside the hut.
"I think you should be the one to award the boys as warrior's, you are the peoples next leader they must see you do this." her father spoke placing a hand on her shoulder, her mother quickly rose from her sitting position.
"we know you are close with the boys" she spoke playing with her daughters braid, " it shall be a great honor to them."
The girl simply nodded not really knowing what to say, before she could even think people were dressing her and painting her with red and yellow paint, as well as painting her parents.
The family wore their headpieces making their way to home tree, awaiting the sully familys arrival.
First came in Jake and neytiri, holding tuk in their arms, the three painted in gold . both familys exhanged small smiles before the couple and their daughter came to sit by the olo'eyktan. Then came in kiri, painted in a beautiful blue shade almost matching her skin perfectly. She practically ran to reyna embracing her as she sat down. Then came in Lo'ak and neteyam, entered in beautiful matching red paint, their head peices completely different. The pair bowed for the people showing their respect. It was clear neytiri trained them well. Soon the olo'eyktan and tsahìk stood up infront of their people holding hands.
"Our daughter mä'reyna will take her first role as future olo'eyktan and tsahìk, she shall award the sully boys their rebirth, to join us as warriors." The crowd of people made various celebration noises proud of their leaders. The tsahìk soon lead the boys to where they were supposed to stand, reyna stood infront of the crowd, accepting the dagger from her mother.
"Thes boys will return as men, they will carry us in war." the girl said raising her dagger in the air as her mother took a seat with the olo'eyktan.
First she turned to lo'ak only reciving a small nod from him, she quickly raised the dagger making a yelping noise as she brought the knife down slightly cutting his chest. The kekunan clan stood cheering on not only the boy, but their future leader. The girl swifty moved to stand infront of neyteyam, repeating the same action towards him. Then she turned to her people and spoke.
"celebrate my people, congratulate these boys, they have trained hard and are now men! they are kekunan now" People had began celebrating and dancing almost immediately after she had finished talking, even the reef family celebrated.
Reyna laughed with kiri as they both sipped their drinks, soon lo'ak appeared sitting at the side of reyna.
"thank you" he whispered in her ear, forcing her to look round at him
"you are welcome, mighty warrior" the girl said laughing turning her attention back to kiri.
Soon the three were joined by aonung and tsreya.
"officially kekunan now" aonung spoke patting his friends shoulder "congratulations"
"aonung, are you the next olo'eyktan for your clan?" reyna spoke now leaning more into lo'ak as she had drank a little too much once again.
"i am yes," aonung began to explain, "once it is safe again, my family will return to the reefs and i will be olo'eyktan" the girl nodded along with what he was saying.
"hoping theirs a pretty reef girl for you to mate with once you get back" lo'ak joked winking at his friend.
"what about you tsreya? what is your role?" reyna questioned attempting to include the girl in the conversation.
"well i am a teacher, i teach children how to ride ilu and such" she spoke softly
"not a warrior?" reyna spoke up once again
"oh please i dont even know what direction to hold a dagger in" the girl joked causing the small circle they had formed to laugh.
"not everyone can be as good a warrior as me" lo'ak bragged pretend to flex his arm muscles
"oh lo'ak how did you manage to fit your big head through the entrance for home tree" reyna spoke sarcasticcally flicking the boys forehead.
"come" the boy said getting to his feet pulling the girl away from the group as she attempted not to spill her drink, he held her hand pulling her into the forest.
"which way to the caves" lo'ak asked turning to the girl, without answering she lead the way returning to the caves in which they had one of there first interactions a few weeks ago.
mä'reyna quickly finished her drink as they walked into the cave. Lo'ak followed her quickly pulling her tail, the turned playfully hissing at the boy shoving him back. He pretended as if he was about to attak, going to grab the girls tail once again.
"stop it skxawing!" the girl spoke laughing before she carried on walking.
"you are kekunan now lo'ak, you may chose a woman." the girl continued to be followed by the boy, running her hand along the cave wall as she walked. "we have many brilliant women, like i said önea would be a good mate for you."
"i dont want önea" the boy spoke coming to grab the girls waist stopping her from walking and forcing her closer to him.
"i have chosen" he whispered looking down at her, "but she must choose me too"
"she has lo'ak"
