You led your former captor through all the backways, all the cracks and crevices, all the secret rooftops and underground tunnels, and was pleasantly surprised at the fact that he only complained three times when he was almost convinced that you were leading him to his death.
And if you were being honest, the outcome of that statement varies on how well he handles the next revelation.
But you told him not to worry about it.
Your reassurance didn't seem to be enough though. Even after consulting the quickest routes to your safe place, it was taking a while to reach your destination, and you could tell the beskar warrior was becoming increasingly suspicious.
"I thought you said you'd give me a tour of the town." He quipped from your side, the leather wrapped around his hand practically glued to the sheathed handle of his blaster. His comment led to the overdramatic roll of your eyes and a sigh that could rival his own as you swerved him up another laden ladder.
"I have been, if you hadn't noticed. You should really pay more attention Tin Man." Before he could respond, you brought him to the edge of the building and placed a hand against the indented cheek of his helmet and pushed it lightly to the side in order to face the horizon. He froze at the motion, but it didn't last long.
You could hear the intake of breath from beneath his helmet as awe set in at the beautiful view set out before you, the reflective shine of his helmet . When you thought he had enough, you gripped the lip of his helmet and tipped it down to get a better look at the actual people.
The dancers were still spinning through the patchy streets, travelers were still trading and negotiating, children were still running and playing, thieves and homeless citizens were still stealing and brawling, the guards were still posted in the shadows, threatening anyone to give them what they wanted when they were bored and out of games to play. It truly was a sight combined with the afternoon suns creeping behind the clouds along the familiar sky.
"Y'see? It's all right here Mando, all you have to do is get your head out of your shiny beskar ass and look around you." The jab was light hearted even to him, but he ceased his own observations just as you had begun to admire them.
"I do not have my head up my-"
"Stop lying to yourself. Just because you're big and strong and - I'm admitting this reluctantly - mildly quick witted, does not mean that you know everything and can beat down everyone in your path. Now shut up and enjoy the world around you." As these words were spoken, you took the crook of his arm and led him back to the ground and down another path to avoid any chances of being spotted, and made sure there was always a way to see the wonders among the streets - whether natural or not - on your journey to save your own hide.
You could hear the disturbance in the air as he grumbled to himself, but made the decision to ignore it and instead focused on quietly giving him intel and underlying meaning to certain people or objects. You weren't surprised at the lack of reactions, but found yourself appreciating his subtle signs, the shift in his body language that led you to believe he wouldn't be regretting his choice in coming with you any time soon. At least you hoped so.
