Your car came to a stop, you hopped out of it and grabbed two cases. You walked to the door and knocked. No one came so you stood outside for another minute or two and knocked again. A girl a little younger than you answered the door. She had curly short brown hair with brown eyes to match. She swung the door open and looked you up and down.

"Who might you be?" she asked, looking surprised.

"My mother answered an ad in the paper, you were looking for another roommate" I said smiling and dropping my cases to my feet.

"That's right, you are the Williams girl." She said,

"Y/N, when my mother told me the ad was coming from Small Heath I didn't expect this."

"Well Y/N, I'm Ada Thorne." She made a motion to me to pick my bags up and come in.

I walked inside sitting my bags down again and made myself at home. She went into the kitchen while I sat on the sofa memorizing the scent in my new house. She handed me a cup of tea and we began to make small talk.

"Your room is upstairs, the first door on the left." She sat her cup down.

"You only want me to pay two pounds a month for this place?" I asked, trying not to laugh.

"I don't want you to pay me at all, I only put it in the paper so no creeps would be willing enough to live with me" she said laughing. "I am just a lady after all" looking at her empty tea glass.

"I insist I should pay you something for allowing me into your home" I said, sitting my glass down digging in my pockets.

"I don't even pay for this place myself" she said laughing once more.

"Oh Ada, does someone else have another someone who is rich in her life?" I said laughing with her.

"Something like that," she said, looking away.

"Well, I believe we need to get to know each other better and sipping tea in an empty house is going to get us nowhere" I said, sitting the glass down and grabbing my cases.

"What do you have in mind Y/N?"

"You'll see Ada, do you have a nice dress?"

"I have many."

"Any that will stand out Ada, not something that will hide your body" I said turning around.

She looked at me and shook her head no. I continued to my room and unpacked. I laid a black satin dress out with silver chains on the back. I took out my red heels and sat them on the floor.

I picked out a nice purple dress for Ada, something that would fit her style but still be risky while flattering her curves.

I unpacked everything else and got dressed. I curled my hair making my curls the biggest they could be. My short blonde hair scrunched up and then I proceeded to my makeup.

I finished with some red lipstick and walked out entering Ada's room upstairs.

"How do I look?" I asked as she gasped. "Is there something wrong, did I mess up my lipstick?" I asked giggling.

"Y/n you can't go out in that short of a dress" she pointed with my lower thighs and the rest of my legs being uncovered.

"Well I like my dress and I thought you would like the one I picked out for you." I took the dress from behind my back showing her how short it was.

"That is gorgeous, but I could never wear that out in public" she said putting her head down.

I handed her the dress and motioned for her to put it on, I was not going to argue with my new friend. She put the dress on and then I did her makeup. Putting a glossy lipstick on her and not letting her stand out too much because of her uncomfortable look at how short the dress was.

"I brought you a fur coat that will go over the dresses length if that makes you feel better" I said while finishing her hair.

"And what about you?" she asked, looking at herself in awe.

"Well I brought myself one as well" I said going back to my room to put it on.

"Are you a whore?" Ada asked as I was walking back to her.

"A whore?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh Miss Ada Thorne, I am only a whore for making you my best friend" I laughed sitting on her bed.

"Well I guess tonight we will both be whore Miss Y/n Williams" she said looking back at me giggling.

"I wouldn't want to be a whore for anyone else" I said standing back up grabbing her hand. "Now is there a pub or are we going to have to travel?" I said, dragging her out of her room.

"There is a pub" she said walking hand in hand with me.

"Amazing, now let's go," I said, dragging her down the steps.

We walked outside and both headed for the pub. Ada didn't want to drive because she said we wouldn't be walking alone after we left. I didn't understand what she meant but I followed her anyway.

"Here it is," she said, opening the door.

We both walked in and every man stopped talking, drinking, smoking, or whatever they were doing. We walked straight to the bar and sat down.

"Hello" I said to the barmaid. "I'll take a whole bottle of your finest whiskey," I said, reaching for the wad of cash in my pocket.

"Are you sure you Miss?" The barman looked at me and then looked at Ada.

"Never been more sure in my life sir." I said laughing.

"Which do you prefer..." he said, grabbing both bottles.

"Surprise me, my friend and I have some business" I said, grabbing Ada's arm.

"It's in the house I suppose?" The barman looked at Ada.

"Yes, I am sure my brothers wouldn't mind" she said laughing and grabbing the bottle from his hands.

"Brothers!" I said with the biggest grin.

"We will not be seeing them today Y/n, remember this night is about us." Ada gave me a cold look and then poured the whiskey into both of our glasses.

I raised my glass and whispered "to being whores, not for men, but for each other" we both laughed and downed our drink.

We talked some more, her getting to know me and I getting to know her. A man approached us and sat next to me.

"Could I buy a drink for the pretty girl?" he said with a devilish smile grabbing my hand.

"Drinks are on the house for my friend and I" I looked at him smiling the same way he did at me. "I suppose I could get you a drink" I lifted myself from my stool and reached over the bar grabbing another glass. My dress came up and tightened around my body showing everything off. All the drunk men started hollering and whistling. I sat back down and Ada started laughing.

"Is there any innocence in you?" she asked downing her drink once more.

"I am very innocent I looked at her, it just depends on what category you are talking about" I said winking at her.

"Maybe I should make a list" she said yelling for the barmaid to grab her a pen and paper.

"Make boxes and put the letter x in a yes or no column" telling her why pouring the man a drink. I raised my glass while he raised his, we clinked them together and downed the drink. I waved him away while he kissed my hand. The drunk men continued to get louder still hollering at me. A door burst open, what looked like a private room behind the man who yelled.
