Ada nodded and the two continued back to their conversation. I put on a pants suit and did my hair, this time I did not wear a bright shade of lipstick but only the gloss I had put on Ada the night before. I headed downstairs and walked outside greeted by my father.

"My beautiful daughter," he spun me around in a hug.

"Oh father, it has only been one night," I laughed, escaping his hug and walking towards the car. "Did you bring everything?" I asked him to walk to the car behind him with two other men in the front seats. "Boys, lovely to see you," I said, shoving my head in to see all of my luggage. I walked back to my fathers car and hopped in. "So where are we going?" I asked watching my father start the car.

"Just driving around, feeling the town out," he said looking at me. "I want to make sure my most valuable possession is in good hands" he said as he stroked a piece of my hair from my face. "Your mother is worried sick, she's scared that you will catch the same thing your brother did," he said in a stern tone.

"Father, he told me to leave and explore." I said, fighting back the tears. "He didn't want me to dwell about the fact he was in pain, he told me that life is worth living and seeing new things," I said remembering the last time I saw my brother on his deathbed.

"I know darling, I know," my father said as we came to a stop. "I am going to step into this pub, there's a shop across the street, why don't you go pick out another dress." he said, handing me three wads of cash. I took it and nodded heading for the shop.

I opened the door and it was just me and another lady. I walked up to her "do you have anything like this?" I pointed to my outfit and she nodded no. "Do you have any dresses?" I asked and she shook her head yes. "Could I see them?" I asked once more, waiting for her to actually respond.

"Follow me," she said. She pointed to the dresses and I was shocked. Nothing worth buying I thought, but I couldn't go in there without spending some money. "Where did you get that?" she asked, looking at my outfit.

"France, I only shop in France." I told her. "Would you like me to get you some fabric from there?" I asked, watching her twitch. "I have a friend who owes me a couple of favors." I said, she nodded her head in shock that I proposed to do something to make her shop come to life.

"Do you need a job?" she asked, pointing at the help wanted sign.

"No, I don't work." I said breaking the silence once more. "I will write a letter to my friend telling him I need some of his finest fabric shipped to this shop," I said, grabbing a pen and paper from my bag. I started writing, I looked up at the woman "what is the address?" She wrote it down and handed me a piece of paper.

I put my hand in my other pocket and brought a wad of cash out, I handed it to her and she refused so I walked to the register and put it underneath. "My father told me to spend some money, you don't have anything I am looking for just yet, but I still need to put my money somewhere." I said walking back towards her. "If you can get this letter delivered, then you will have your fabric." I told her, handing her the letter. "It is your responsibility, not mine considering you owe me a favor now." I said putting the pen back in my pocket. "Have a good day," the last words I spoke to her before leaving.

I headed towards the pub where my dad and his two men went in. It was the same pub I had spent my first night in. I walked in scanning the room for my father. I finally saw him and headed his way. "Hello father," I said, putting my hands on his shoulders and giving him a kiss on the cheek. He watched as I sat next to him.

"I heard women aren't allowed in here." he said laughing.

"Only whores." I said laughing with him

"Then what are you doing here?" he asked, concerned.

"I'm the exception, the woman I live with her family owns the pub." I said waving over to Henry. He brought a glass and picked up the whisky, I shook my head no and said "water only, thank you." He looked at me in shock, I grinned.

I couldn't drink in front of my father. He wouldn't allow it. I sipped on the water I had been given and talked to my father for hours.

"Well, we better be going." he said standing up. He headed for the bar to make his payment and then we left. We drove back to my place and I grabbed all of my stuff. I took the luggage up the stairs one at a time.

Once everything was finally in my room I unpacked. I opened one of the cases and it was full of money. I put it in my closet, I then put all of my fashionable dress away and finally laid in my bed. I let what was left of the sunlight hit me until I fell asleep.

I was only out for an hour before Ada stormed in my room jumping on me. I groaned trying to get her off but she was too excited for me to build any strength.

"Get up, we're going out." she said smiling making her voice high pitched.

"Who is we?" I looked at her.

"Not my brothers, if that's what you were asking." she frowned. "It will be me, you, and Polly an actual girls night." She sprung back onto me. "No boys." she said with a stern tone.

"No fun," I said grumpily. "Polly does seem very nice though, I'll have to get ready." I said, shooing her off of me.

"I mean it Y/n, not peaky blinders." she said pointing at me.

"Who are the peaky blinders?" I asked with a confused puzzled look on my face.

"Oh bloody hell, my family Y/n that's what they are called." she said, spatting at me.

"Okay, Ada no peaky blinders." I said standing up undressing. She left my room running to hers. I still haven't seen her baby, but I'm not going to pry. I put on a red dress and some black heels. I could hear Ada creeping in again.

"Could I borrow another dress?" she asked with a devilish smile on her face. I pointed at my closet and she went shopping. I laughed as she would take out each dress and the matching fur coat and put it in front of her. "Does this look good?" she asked for the 100th time.

"Ada, you look stunning in everything. Wear something that makes you feel your best." I said while Ada nodded and took 3 dresses with her to her room. She came back to find the perfect shade of lipstick and skipped back to her room humming. I could hear her singing and I would laugh when she would get really loud and instantly quiet down.
