"You ready?" Aether asked again looking down at me as Swiss left the room with another quick goodbye. I nodded shaking because of how weak I was. He clearly saw my distress because he then spoke up. "Mountain, can you get her food?" He asked the tall man. Aether then motioned me to sit down on the bed while he continued to stand and look at my fragile body.

So that's Mountain. The caretaker of the gardens. I thought with a small smile falling to my lips.

"Of course, I will be right back." He said then ran off.

"When was the last time you ate?" Aether asked me.

"Uh, I think I had some bread the other day." I told him truthfully, I could barely see his eye's through the mask but I could tell he was takin back by the way he paused.

"I- we-" he stumbled not knowing how to respond. "Why aren't they feeding you? I know they feed everyone else." He asked, his voice was soft and caring.

"They needed to keep me weak." I told him and he still looked confused. "I can't use my magic if I'm weak. They didn't want me to escape." I giggled out the last part but the giggling quickly became coughing. As I winced in pain with tears in my eyes because I was so weak. Eventually after a few long seconds I stopped and wiped the tears out of my eyes and off my face. "Ughe, sorry." I apologized my voice more horse then it was before. Aether crouched before me and helped wiping the tears away.

"We are going to get you food and water, don't worry." He told me, his voice gave me comfort. It was a strange feeling being so weak in front of other people that weren't Rowan, I don't know how I feel about it.

A few moments later Mountain came back in with food and water. He handed me the glass first which I immediately downed in a few gulps. I had already began feeling a bit better. I then took the food and slowly began eating it despite wanting to down it like I did the water but I knew it wouldn't be safe if I ate it like that. I didn't want to puke as I ran away from here. Aether watched me carefully as I ate and when I finally finished he stood up.

"Better?" Asked Aether with a small smile.

"Yeah." I sighed feeling some energy coming back to me.

"Alright, I think it's time we head out." He raised his hand for me to take as he helped me up. "I will see you all later." He said goodbye to his friends and we left the room.

We made our way down the stairs with the halls completely empty. I followed Aether around the castle taking turns upon turn walking throughout the hallways. It made me wonder how someone could live in a place like this.

"Swiss is really going to miss you." Aether spoke up with a whisper. I gave a confused hum. "When he came back he would always talk about you." This scared me a little, what was he saying about me?

"What did he tell you?"

"That you were nice, funny," He said. "And attractive." He whispered the last part so I didn't hear it but I did regardless. I felt my face heat up and a dumb smile came to my face.

"Did he actually?"

"Uh, yeah, he really enjoyed your company." He deflected from the last part of what he said.

We made it out of the castle finally and went through the backyard of the grounds to see it all decorated with wedding decorations. I shivered a bit as we continued to walk through the cold winter.

"Is it safe going this way?" I asked with a whisper and my tears chattering as we continued to walk further away from the castle. We heard a voice that was a man's but we were to far to hear what he was saying. Judging by the lack of other voices it was the marriage officiant.

"Yeah, everyone is paying attention to them, don't worry. We should be out of here soon." He concluded. I have a hum in response not wanting to speak because I was so cold. "Here take this." He said the took off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

"What made them get married outside in the middle of winter." I gruffed out.

"No idea, hopefully by the time I come back they will be inside."

"Thank you Aether, by the way." I shivered but felt warmer as we continued out of the castle grounds.

We were just about to leave when the words "I do." Came from Swiss's mouth. I don't know why but it felt like someone threw a knife through my chest. I felt horrible that he was getting married to someone he's never loved let alone know that well. I felt Aether's hand on my back as we continued off the grounds. We made it out and into the town.

   "Where too?" He asked me.

"Are you going to come with?" I asked confused.

"I don't think Swiss would be to happy if I just left you like this." He let out a breathy chuckle and you could see the hot air coming from his mouth.

"I need to go to Rowan, he has my horse, then I'll let you go."

"I should take you home, make sure you are safe." He told me as we continued to walk through the town. People still swarmed the streets, more now then on a normal winter day because they were discussing the marriage that is goin on. No one noticed the masked man.

"I live really far, you're not going to make it home." I explained to him.

"Then be incredibly safe. I don't think Swiss would let me live it down if something happened to you." He confessed with another small chuckle.

It was a silent walk to Rowan's shop but a huge smile was stuck to my face when I saw Dusk standing tied to a post in the ground.

"Dusk!" I yelped with excitement and ran to the dark horse. "Oh I missed you." I hugged his head and pet him softly. I turned around to see Aether with a smile on his face. "Thank you Aether, truly. I swear I'll make it up to you guys."

"Please, don't worry about it. Just get home safely, okay? And it was nice meeting you (Y/n), I understand why Swiss took a liking to you." He smiled and I nodded with my face heating up again. He then turned around to join the wedding festivities for the rest of the day.

"You better explain everything to me!" Rowan came up behind me with a warm hug.

"Oh, I missed you so much Rowan!" I laughed as we both went inside to discuss what happened over some warm tea.
