Savior (Swiss x Reader)

But I'm Still Here

I finished feeding my animals while Aether watched. I felt my stomach doing all sorts of flips but it wasn't the same as when Swiss would call me darling. I was terrified of what this outcome could be.

   "Now how are we getting there?" Aether asked as he pet the orange fox.

"Follow me." I said blankly.

   He chuckled nervously. "Should I be worried?"

   "Maybe. I've never been down that far in. So if we die we do it together."

   "Hmm, comforting." He hummed.

   The blue torches lit as my feet touched the stone floor. The ghoul masked man looked around in awe.

"I was told that if we head straight down that hall the castle is right there." I pointed down the hall.

   "Who told you this?"

  "A friend." I smiled. I wouldn't necessarily call him that but I didn't know what else to say.

   "Where did you meet this friend?"

   "I met him down here. That's when he told me." I shrugged as we walked along the dimly lit tunnel.

"Do you know how much longer?" Aether yawned a bit.

"Not much seeing as I can now see the stars."

"Oh thank god."

"I bet I can beat you there." I smirked then lifted my dress a little and began to run to the stone stairs. Aether quickly followed behind until we made it. "Beat you!" I smiled brightly to which Aether returned it.

"I'm glad to see you're doing a lot better then when I first met you." He was panting.

"Same, I thought I was going to die down there." I whispered as we sat on the bottom steps for a bit.

   "I don't think Swiss would let that happen."

   "He would now." I grumbled to myself. We then stood up and walked up the stairs with Aether in front of me. I was thinking about running but opted to not.

   There was a small door at the top of the stairs that was wooded and had a metal outline with a intricate design. Aether opens the door to reveal what looked to be a large storage closet with another door across the room. He waved me on to follow him through the messy room full of random objects.

When we made it across the room I hid behind Aether as he opened the other door. Bright light filled the room then he poked his head out.

   "Do you know what part of the castle we're in?" I whispered.

"I don't." He muttered. "Stay close behind me." So I did.

   We took all sorts of twists and turns to eventually lead us to the room that the queen was apparently waiting for us in. We walked in to the room after a knock on the door and there the queen stood, she wore a deep purple dress with long flowing sleeves. Aether then bowed while I completely forgot how to greet the queen for a second then did a half assed curtsy. Not that I meant to but I saw that it was fitting after the fact.

"I am so delighted that you could join us miss (Y/n). This meeting shouldn't take to long." The Queen started. "I got Aether to bring you in today because I have a few questions to ask you." She continued and I kept my face blank though I was terrified of what the question would be. "How did you enter the castle?" I looked at Aether, wondering if I should lie or not.
