"Take em." I said as we both looked at the table that the potions rested on.

"Are you sure you don't want them?" Terzo asked.

"Positive." I gave a quick nod.

"Not even one?"

"Take them all."

"Very well." He said, taking the small bottles and putting them in his bag that was strung around his shoulder. "I must go back to the church but I shall see you soon, amor." His hand then fell to place on my face. Cusping it ever so gently. I nodded into his hand. "Please don't be hard on yourself, he'll get over it surely and if he doesn't he doesn't deserve a kind soul like you." He released his hand from my face and traveled back down the ladder.

When I knew he was out of earshot I broke into a sob and ran out of that room. I cried and cried for hours after that. I never had anyone like Swiss care about me so much and I ruined everything.

—————

It was raining. Warmer then yesterday's but everything was wet and uncomfortable. It was even worse because I needed to get water. The walk there was horrible, the mud getting all over my shoes and the bottom of my dress.

I plunged the bucket into the water, making sure I took at least one fish for Oráiste. When I stood up I was met face to face with the familiar looking ghoullette mask then a ghoul one behind her.

"Phe- (Y/n)." She started, already by the way she spoke I felt the guilt piling up in my gut. My eyes flashed from sunshine to Aether. "Thank you for saving my father despite my brothers wishes."

"Please don't thank me." My lip quivered. It felt like needles poking behind my eyes as I held my tears in, though it already looked like I was crying do to the rain.

"(Y/n) please, let me make it up to you."

"No, it's okay. I need to get going anyway." I shook my head as it began to feel heavy.

"Sunshine, why don't you go back and I'll walk her home." Aether walked forward. Sunshine nodded, waved goodbye then ran out of the rain. Aether then hopped over the small river.

"I'm sorry." I looked away, I couldn't look at his best friend after what I did.

"I'm not here to scold you." He said plainly. There was no emotion behind his voice. "The queen actually would like to see you." My brain stopped functioning, then my face contorted with confusion.

"Why?" I finally asked, extremely skeptical of this whole thing.

"She didn't tell me why but she told me she needed to see you. It's an emergency."

"Tell her I'm busy." I huffed. I didn't know why but it angered me and besides I can't go there, they'll kill me.

"You're going to disrespect the queen? Royal demands?" He asked like he was offended. I felt angry bubbling inside of me.

"Weren't you the one who helped me escape the castle!?" I spat. How dare he get offended at something like this. It's my life on the line.

He took a deep breath. "I don't want to argue with you, and you're right, I did but please just come with me."

"Aether, I can't-"

"The king won't even see you." He quickly sputtered out. I paused and thought about it for a solid ten seconds then let out a sigh.

"If I get killed I'm gonna haunt you." I pointed my finger at him. "Will I see Swiss?" My hand dropped.

"Do you want to?"

"No."

"Then no, you won't." He chuckled a bit.

"Does he hate me? Please be honest."

"I don't think he could hate you, he's upset, sure but it's not hatred. I'm almost a hundred percent sure he will get over it." His words were smooth as the swarmed my brain.

"Thank you." I began to shiver. It was starting to get cold from the water clinging onto my skin. "When does the queen need me?"

"As soon as possible. Don't worry it shouldn't be long."

"Good, because I can't leave my animals for more then a day. Speaking of which I need to go feed them."

"So we will go back to your house then I'll figure out a way to sneak you in."

"I may have another way to get in." I broke into a mischievous smile.

"Should I be concerned?" He gave a worried laugh while rubbing his arms. We had already begun walking home.

"No, you're going to be fine. Just don't tell anyone, I can't have any of this getting out."

"Not even Swiss?" He grinned, nudging my shoulder.

"Not even Swiss." I smiled along.
