Princess' POV (Iris)

Why is he calling me Iris?

He was looking at me with tears in his eyes.

"Princess, you go back to your room and have some rest", Demi ordered a maid to come with me to my bedroom.

I returned to my room and thanked the maid, she smiled back before departing.

What is happening?

I'll ask Demi, but I'm currently worn out. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I dozed off like a log.

Demetrius' POV

"Dad", I said as Princess left

"Is she really my Iris", He questioned, tears welling in his eyes

"Yes, Dad but she doesn't know us. She lost all her memories in a plane crash recently. I saved her from a group of men. But when I saw her face I couldn't help but bring her here to live with us. She thinks she is an orphan dad", I told him

"She is not an orphan, she is my daughter. I know it", he expressed

"I know Dad, that's why I brought her here", I explained

"Did you do a background check on her? How was she living before", I responded by telling him all I knew about her.

After I finished telling him, he had a regretful expression on his face.

I carefully examined his countenance before asking, "Dad, is there anything you are not telling me?"

I again asked, "Dad", when he remained silent.

"I lied about the accident. Your mother didn't die in an accident", he said, his eyes welling up with tears.

I've never seen tears in his eyes before.

"What, what are you saying Dad", I exclaimed in shock

"There was never an accident. I made it up so you won't start to hate your mother, believing that she merely left you with me and took your sister with her. I started a new project when Iris was born, and as a result, I became quite busy. We had a fight over this the day before she went as she thought this isn't good for both of our children. I told her to leave me in a fit of rage, and she complied. You know your mother, she was a fragile woman and I've never ever raised my voice at her but that night I lost it. But she also took away our daughter with her. She wrote me a letter stating that she was unhappy, that I was not giving her any time, and that we were often at odds. She also told me to take care of you. To find her, I even hired the best private investigators, but I got nothing. I still have her letter with me. Every night, I silently cry for the mistake I committed. If only I had controlled my anger, my wife and daughter would've been with me all these years", he said and cried

Mother left me with Dad.

"I'm sorry son. I'm so sorry, please forgive me", dad said holding his hands

"Dad, what are you doing? Please, don't do this. It's okay Dad. See, god gave our princess back to us. We should focus on that instead of dwelling on our sad past", I tried to console him

"You are right, we need to take care of our princess. I can finally do what I have been craving for all these years. A daughter's love. I will spoil her so much, I will give her everything she wants", he said as he wiped his tears

"Look at this man being such a softy for his daughter and people say he is merciless", I commented

"It's my daughter we are talking about not some ordinary girl", he said
