Asteria's POV
"Papà," I gulped
"Iris," Papà said, removing his glasses.
"It was Alek, right?" he asked, looking past my shoulder, making me clutch my purse tightly.
"Yes, Papà," I replied, giving him a little smile.
"That's good. I was coming to pick you up. By the way, how was your stay at Thea's house?", he asked as we started walking inside the manor.
"It was good," I lied, feeling a pang of guilt. Technically, it was good, but I felt bad lying to Papà.
"Great. Take some rest. I'm leaving for the office, alright," he said, kissing my forehead and leaving.
I ran to my room and changed into comfy clothes. I tried contacting Thea, but she didn't pick up my call. I wanted to know if she was okay or not. I even messaged her to call me, but there was no reply. To pass the time, I started drawing some paintings.
It was evening now, and Rita Aunty was setting dinner on the dining table. Demi and Papà had gone to freshen up while I was watching TV.
The doorbell rang, and I was going to see who it was, but Rita Aunty beat me to it, as always. She is so fast.
She came smiling with a big bouquet of white lilies.
"Looks like someone got an admirer," she smiled, handing me the bouquet.
"Huh," I looked at the card to see a beautiful message from Alek:
These beautiful flowers are for my beautiful Angel. I'm taking you on a date tomorrow, so be ready by 7.
Yours, A.
I blushed as I read the message.
"Oh sweet Jesus," Aunty gushed, reading the message as well.
"I tell you, this handsome hunk is falling for you," she said, and I blushed deeper.
"But what will I wear tomorrow?" I asked her.
"Don't worry, we'll go shopping together," she said, clapping her hands.
I heard Demi and Papà coming downstairs. I looked at Aunty and then at the flowers.
"Hush, take this note with you. I'll take care of these beautiful flowers," she said, taking the flowers.
I joined Papà and Demi at the table.
"Don't tell me, old lady, you're dating at such an age," Demi teased Aunty, putting the flowers in the vase on the table.
"Oh boy, who will gift these beautiful flowers to an old lady like me? I bought them myself," Aunty told him lightly, smacking Demi on the head for teasing her.
"Dad, I think I'll have to go to Miami to sign the partnership with Wilson's," Demi told Papà.
"When are you going?" he questioned.
