Asteria's POV

I walked into the dining room, and everyone's eyes turned to me in surprise. Papa, Demi, Theios, Theia, my best friend Thea, and him - Aleksander - all stood up, their faces filled with a mix of shock and delight.

"Princess!" Demi exclaimed, opening his arms for a hug.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming back? I would have picked you up from the airport!"

I pouted, making him smile. "I wanted to surprise you all."

Next, I hugged Papa, who beamed with joy.

"My Iris is home. I'm a happy man today," he said, kissing my forehead.

Theia Ambrosia also hugged me warmly.

"I'm happy you're back, sweet girl. You look even more beautiful now."

Theios patted my head.

"Glad to see you after such a long time, Iris."

Then, I turned to Thea, my best friend, who was tearfully smiling at me. We hugged each other tightly, reuniting after three long years. Demi had forbidden me from contacting her due to Aleksander, but now we were finally together again.

"I'm sorry," Thea whispered, crying.

"Don't say sorry, and stop crying," I said, wiping her tears away. "I missed you so much, and I have so much to tell you."

Thea smiled, and we hugged again. "Oh, you will tell me everything. We're having our best friends' day out tomorrow."

I smiled, feeling a sense of relief washed over me. Maybe everything would be fine now that I was back.

Theia interrupted our reunion, "Girls, let's have dinner. It's getting cold."

We all laughed, and I thanked Theia silently, grateful to avoid talking to Aleksander for the moment. But I knew I couldn't avoid him forever.

As I sat down beside Thea, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Aleksander's gaze was fixed on me, his eyes piercing and intense. I tried to avoid eye contact, focusing on the conversation around the table, but I could feel his eyes on me, burning into my skin.

Theia's voice broke through my thoughts, "Asteria, how was your journey? Was it tiring?"

I turned to her, grateful for the distraction. "No, Theia, it was fine. I'm just happy to be home."

Theios nodded in agreement. "Yes, it's great to have you back, Iris. We've missed you."

I smiled, feeling a warmth in my heart. It was good to be surrounded by people who loved me, who cared about me.

But as dinner progressed, I couldn't shake off the feeling that Aleksander was watching me. I tried to ignore him, focusing on the conversation, but his gaze was like a weight on me, pressing down on me.

Aleksander's POV

I couldn't believe my eyes. Asteria was standing in front of me, her piercing green eyes sparkling like emeralds in the light. It had been three years since I'd last seen her, three years since she'd left me without a word.

But now, she is back. And she is more beautiful than ever.

I felt a surge of possessiveness wash over me as I gazed at her. She was mine. She had always been mine.
