This man was trouble, Aaron gripped tighter. The disliked the way he looked at Tundra; given the current situation it would be difficult to get into a fight. On their journey, Tundra warned him that even if he is a dragon warrior he is not invincible and that he should never underestimate his opponent.
"Girly, you hand over that cat behind you and I will let warm my bed for tonight." He laughed in 'douche bag' and his mates laughed with him. Tundra kept a straight face and sighed.
"I'll give you a counter offer. You grab your buddies over there..." she hints at the three men. "... and leave the lynx alone; you get to live to see another day."
He looked dumbfounded and burst into laughter, the rest followed right after him. Wiping the tear from the corner of his eye he looked at Tundra with admiration and lustful yearning. "I like your zest... But the answer to that is 'no'. Since I feel very generous today, I'm giving you another chance to comply with my offer."
"Not happening." Tundra replied, the feeling Aaron's gaze told her that his blood was boiling and he would snap any moment. The man and his comrades drew out their weapons to intimidate them to surrender.
"You intend to die a dog's death? I don't know whether you heard of me but the name is Remus the Monster hunter, you and your friend over there stand no chance; you are fewer in number."
"Remus? The monster hunter? Talk about boastful..." She scoffed. "Tell me Remus; have you ever fought a hellhound?"
Aaron opened up his eyes wide awake and his rage subsiding. The so called monster hunter was slightly caught off guard and the mentioning of a hellhound caused unease among his men. "Sure I have!" He replied aggressively, a pure lie it was.
Her figure began to shift; plain skin exchanged for fur, her even teeth for fangs and a glow in her eyes that paralyzed the men who looked into them. A loud roar echoed and shook the area around them. A lot of blood was spilled that night.
The beast was set free and guided in which direction to continue on living. Tundra avoided looking at Aaron; to that Aaron grabbed her arm and pulled her into a tight hug and looked at her with soft and loving eyes. She smiled and kissed him softly.
"Let's just walk like this for a while." Aaron held her hand and smiled; he was having a blast spending time with her, disregarding the bloodbath that occurred just last night.
Prince Jamal was at the time indulging in his own relationship. The prince and princess started spending more and more time together in the garden. They drank tea, talked about poetry and took it upon themselves to write some stories and poems. Today the princess looked gloomy.
"What's on your mind Gene?" Jamal asked, the two agreed no honorific were needed when it's just the two of them talking. The princess sat down next to him.
"I heard loud screams last night. That squire, he was dragged down the hall last night to the physician's ward. It's so horrible; the pain he must be enduring." She was choked up talking about it. Jamal pushed her head to rest on his shoulder and embraced her.
"I think everyone is partly carrying his burden. It is possible this is aftermath of that kidnapping a week back; a surge of memories imprisoning his mind." He let out a sad huff. "I hope he gets better."
The boy lied on the mat drenched in sweat in his stone-walled room with a table in the left corner and a door to its right; a wax candle barely illuminating the room enough to see the boys pale body.
He whimpered, bloodshot eyes barely keeping open; rather he forced them to stay open because he knew the moment his eyelids close and he drifts to sleep he will be standing face to face with that monster that haunts him in his dream.
