Keir was showing unease; the reason behind that is that hellhound blood dries quickly. That is another reason why hellhound blood is difficult to obtain. It will evaporate at this rate and it would all be for nothing.
"Do it..." Tundra huffed, her eyes turning restlessly and burning with a red hue, unnoticeably fading. Keir flinched to her readiness to take the blade and give her blood for a human. He pressed the blade harder creating a deeper and longer cut, despite steeling himself he couldn't ignore her cries.
Aaron's guilt was immense, he was the reason the one he loves was in pain, for his selfishness to save a friend. He wanted it to stop; he needed it to stop because if it goes on like this the pain accumulating in his chest will kill him. He reached his hand out and opened his mouth but before he could say anything her words projected themselves. "Don't, I made up my mind."
Aaron was more determined to put an end to her pain, seeing she could not even speak properly. A net weaved of chains prevented him from advancing further. A sad frown was directed towards him. "Elias depends on whether or not my blood can be supplied to make the needed medicine. He is suffering and will continue to suffer; are you willing to let that happen?"
"I don't want anyone to suffer! Not Elias and certainly not you..." Aaron whimpered. She gave him an apologetic smile.
"It won't be long before he gets better. Go back to Sir Cameron for the time being, I will join you shortly."
Keir created a ripple that would lead him back to Sir Cameron's room. He looked back at it, they left without much of an explanation; he must have a lot of questions. Aaron clenched his fist; they are sending him away that he wouldn't have to watch.
Sir Cameron leaned against the table, arranging his thoughts and decided he was too old to deal with this. Not long after he concluded his assessment a ripple opened and Aaron emerged from it and the ripple closed behind him. His face was wet around the eyes while his cheeks hand dried out tear trails.
Sir Cameron was afraid to ask since it would further his confusion. He pulled up a chair and the boy plopped down with his head lifelessly bobbing down.
"Sir Cameron?" Aaron uttered the knight's name with a tremble in his voice. "Will the physician be able to heal Elias's condition?"
Cameron waited for a little while before he pulled up a chair for himself and placed it opposite the one Aaron sat on."Gregorio is one of the most knowledgeable people I know; I'm sure he is capable to give Elias a swift recovery."
Aaron lifted his head. "I hope you're right."
Cameron got a good look at him; there were no drastic changes in appearance as much as the air around him felt different, more chaotic. There was no need to push him; if it was something he could talk to him about he would have brought it up on his own. The knight huffed and smiled wholeheartedly. "You've become strong; my guidance won't contribute much to your growth."
"Don't say that; it's not true..." Aaron brushed him of rashly.
"But it is." The knight scoffed. "You could certainly beat me in a duel." He let that sentence settle before adding: "I have been meaning to ask you about the man from earlier; he called you 'brother-in-law'..."
"It's a bit of a weird story..." Aaron rubbed the back of his head piecing down how to tell the story and where to begin. "His name is Keir; I don't think there is a last name but among adventurers he's known as the 'Silent Shadow'."
"I think I head his name mentioned some time before." The knight thought back but couldn't quite put his finger on the origin of whence he heard. "So how did you get involved with him and his family?"
