Keir gazed around. Aaron still didn't understand why he was so concerned about the so called triplets. Surely they were safe in the subspace. Only conclusion Aaron could draw was that the sisters have some kind of means to step into the subspace domain.
He felt a tingle and pulled Tundra away, placing the Hellblade in its place. There was a force that struck the blade, though Aaron didn't see it. Keir turned towards them and that was when a voice echoed. "Silent shadow, we meet again. Give us the hellhounds and we'll be out of your business."
Keir drew out his daggers stepping up and pushing back Aaron, Tundra and the boy. "Galene, the 'Mute'... I don't intend on giving them up; why do you want them anyway?" He asked as she watched expressionlessly. "Right, you can't hear me here but you can talk... I have to step out, three of you go."
Tundra opened her mouth ready to complain; Keir's warm expression said there was no room for discussion and they should head to safety. Keir opened a ripple; just as he was about to pass through Tundra frowned and jumped up on her feet, speeding past him she said. "Make sure the boy makes it out and hide him."
Keir shouted her name, and watched as she ran to lure the triplets away. Keir closed the ripple picking up the boy into his arms and running as fast as he could. Aaron shouted and cursed, demanding he lets him out. Keir replied as he pushed on. "She is buying us time! You know she wouldn't do something reckless. And keep your voice down; the deaf sister will hear you."
"That's exactly something she'd do!" Aaron continued to shout despite Keir's efforts. He sighed and spoke no more and neither did Aaron.
After running for what felt like a day, they made shelter at a cave's entrance to rest and spend the night. The boy was exhausted from all the excitement and was placed leaning against the cave wall and his eyes slowly closed and he sunk into sleep.
Aaron was still frustrated and worried that he paced around, anxiously biting his nails. Keir stoked the fire and was getting annoyed by Aaron's restlessness but he understood why; he too began to worry that he might have overestimated Tundra's ability against the triplets or otherwise underestimated the three sisters.
"What do we do next?" Aaron directed his question to Keir. There was a wavering uncertainty coming from Keir; he himself would have asked Aaron the same question in due time but Aaron had beaten him to it.
Keir lifted his gaze towards the sky; dark clouds were rolling in, it could begin to rain at any moment. It was needless for him to say that the there was no imminent threat, but that only meant for Aaron and himself; the boy was a different story.
Keir didn't know what it was the sisters wanted with the boy. They were clearly looking for a hellhound and Tundra saw through that hence she used herself as bait to lead them away. Keir looked at the boy who flinched when Keir's gaze struck him. He was lead to assume something happened between him and Tundra that made Tundra act the way she did.
"We take the boy somewhere safe." Keir finally spoke; Aaron wasn't surprised that would be his answer, more so he was anticipating it and any other answer would have been unpredicted.
Aaron was partially on board; he hated that he knew nothing of what happened to Tundra, however the boy couldn't survive on his own nor could he fend for himself should any enemy appear. "Alright..." he stood up and gently reached out his hand to the boy, as if not to startle him. "Come along now, we got a long trip ahead of us boy."
The boy looked up, his face showed a surprised and bewildered expression. He took Aaron's hand as a gesture of trust and stumbled up onto his feet. He looked at Aaron both eagerly and nervously wanting to say something, Aaron gave him time to do so. "You can call me 'Conlead'..."
