I sat in my room looking at every corner. I lived here for eighteen years, and now I'm leaving because I was a payment for our pack debts.
I still couldn't accept that this was happening now. The first Beta of Silver Moon would be here any minute now, but I didn't have the strength to pack my things. I sobbed while hugging my favorite pillow. It was given to me by my dad. He said that mom had made it when I was a baby. I wish she was here.
The door slowly opened and my best friend Toby, entered my room. He was the first Beta's son and soon to be the first Beta of our pack. He was also friends with my brother. "Hey Piggy, stop crying." He said as he wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead. That's what he did when I cried. "I'm leaving today, Nic and it hurts. It really hurts." I admitted hugging him. I hoped we were mates but he said he couldn't smell the scent of the potential bond between us.
Males knew when they found the right she-wolf for them. It was the scent of women that made them crazy. It turned the earth's rotation for them. While us, women could sense the prestige of a man. That scent lured us to them until they claimed us and accepted to be our mate.
"I know Piggy. Dad told me. I told him to fight for you but the safety of our pack comes first." He said. "That's true. I hate the consequences of them helping us." I said slightly pulling away from his hug. "Then run, you can run from this and live your own life." He suggested. "No! I'm not going to do that. I love this pack. I'm sure that Alpha Shad will kill all of you if I run away." I said picking a bag to start packing.
My heart broke apart over and over again as I put my clothes in the bag one by one. I had never been away from my family for too long. Actually, I hadn't left Snow Moon since birth. "I will call you everyday when you get there. Promise me you'll answer my texts and calls." He said. "You know I will Tob. I'll miss you and our endless movie marathons everyday." I said smiling at him. He really had a huge part of my heart. "I'll wait for your reply then," he answered.
A knock on the door stopped me from putting my pants inside the bag. Toby opened the door and I saw Alice, one of our servants. "Lady Mika, Alpha Malcolm sent me here to inform you that the first Beta of Silver Moon pack has already arrived, and is expecting you to be ready by now." Alice informed me. "Okay Alice, just tell Dad that I'll be there in a minute." I said, putting the last of my clothes away that I needed to bring. I also packed my healing tools. I was a healer of this pack, though we also had two more healers here. "Yes, Lady Mika." She said before closing the door.
The first Beta was sure punctuated. He was on time. I turned to look at Toby. "Hey big guy, stop pitying me and start helping me with my bags." I said jokingly. "Your leaving me here, and you want me to help you? No! You can help yourself." Toby said as he grabbed my bags and lead the way to my father's office. A scent of pine and honey hit me when we entered the room.
Mateo was there with my father, first Beta Sargent and third in command, Henry. I saw the first Beta of Silver Moon but his back was to me. I couldn't help but feel little when he stood up and turned to look at me. "Mika, this is First Beta Titus of Silver Moon pack." Father introduced Titus to me.
The First Beta was a good-looking guy. Tall and handsome, but something told me that he was dangerous. He looked at me and bowed a little. 'Wow! Very noble of him.' I said to myself.
Silver Moon pack was the total opposite of my pack. There was no snow there. It was surrounded by forest and mountains. Based on the map our ancestors provided, Silver Moon was twice the size of Snow Moon. "Nice meeting you First Beta Titus." I said but I didn't bow to him. I'm an Alpha's daughter, I don't bow to anyone but my father and other Alpha's. "The pleasure is mine Lady Mika." Beta Titus said. "Alpha Malcolm, I think we need to leave now. Alpha Shad is waiting for our arrival this evening and I believe Lady Mika is ready to go." He said to my father.
Father looked at me with some sadness in his eyes. He walked to me and hugged me for the last time. Mateo looked at me, silently standing near the window of our father's office. He simply smiled at me, but I knew he didn't want me to go. Titus carried my bags outside as I followed him outside. He had three cars waiting for us. Titus put my things in one of them and told me to get inside. I obeyed him and gave one final look towards my dad and baby brother before I got inside the car. Everyone was looking at me like they were happy that I made the right choice and was helping them.
The ride inside the car was silent. Titus didn't bother talking to me. He was just reading some novel. I looked around inside the limo and decided to take one of the books on his side but before I could get it, the car suddenly stopped and I fell into his lap. 'Oh gracious!'
"Rocco, what happened?!" Titus shouted at the driver. "I'm sorry, Titus. There's a hole in the road that I didn't see." Rocco said apologetically. "Next time watch out and be careful." He said. "I-I'm sorry about the——"
"It's nothing." He said, tossing me the book I intended to get before the incident. "Thank you," I said blushing. 'Shit! That's so embarrassing! I almost touched his- grrrrr!' I looked away and started to read until I fell asleep.
