I could feel the tension building inside of me as I walked into the dining room. I was about to meet my so called mate. What would I do now? What would I need to do to make him dislike me and withdraw the contract?
I sat in my usual place where Titus let me sit, but before I could sit on it, a girl pushed me and sat in my chair. I looked at her but she ignored me. Ignoring her rudeness, I looked over the rest I've the chairs to see if any were vacant, but the only one that was free was right beside Titus. I pulled the chair and sat down. They ignored me, so I waited for Alpha Shad and Titus to arrive. "You're the girl he's supposed to marry right?" The girl in the front of me asked. "Hmmmmm? I think so." I said. "You should stop acting like a good girl bitch. Everyone here knows how ambitious your pack is for bringing up this stupid contract!" She said glaring at me.
I was shocked by her words. Did they really think that way about my pack? We weren't the ones who created the contract but their previous leaders did. They helped us in return of marriage. They were the worst not us. "Who the heck was this girl? Was she Shad's girlfriend too? "Excuse me? What did you just say about my pack?" My fingers under the table were twitching by her words and rudeness. I couldn't calm myself. I didn't want to snap and attack this wolf.
She was beautiful and tall but I was taller than her. She looked like some bitch I saw back in Snow Moon. She was wearing little clothes. "I said your pack is ambitious! No wonder why your Alpha agreed with this. It's a great opportunity to be allies with Silver Moon." She said flipping her hair and smirking at me. "You don't have the right to say that about my father and my pack!" We don't want this but your pack threatened a war and threatened to kill my people." I stood up and pushed back my chair. Anger filled me and I wanted to snap that neck of hers. "Admit it! Your pack is weak and you're a bitch!" She said pushing her chair back as well.
She was about to attack me when a voice full of authority stopped us. "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?!" I looked towards his direction. The man in front of me was a goddess' greatest creation. From his raven hair, his green forest eyes, to his strong jaw and kissable lips. Titus beside him was handsome but this one was a god. "ANSWER ME!" He shouted.
The bitch ran into Shad's arms which he accepted. "She started shouting at me when I sat in the Luna's chair." She said. "What the hell are you talking about?! You're the one dishonoring my father and my pack! You're a liar!" I said trying to grab her but Titus stopped me. "Lady Mika stop, she's a full grown she-wolf. You can't shift, she can damage you." Titus said. "I don't care. I'm an Alpha's daughter, a fighter, and the moon goddess' healer. She can't do anything big towards me and that bitch said my father was weak and my pack was ambitious making it seem like we wanted this. Let go of me so I can rip her head off." I said trying to free myself from Titus' grip.
"You got mad easy over what Josie said?" Shad asked. "What?!" I snapped my head towards him and glared. Boring my blue eyes into his forest green ones. "I think she was just being honest. Your father agreed with this and your pack surely forced you to accept this arrangement." Shad said. My finger twitched again. I could feel my anger getting worse.
This was the man I was supposed to marry? Damn this arrangement! I was marrying a bastard. "He just honored the words of our ancestors. We didn't want to break their arrangement to your family, if that's being weak, that's fine! We are weak.... but what makes you different? You just accept all of this? By the looks of it, you get a lot of fun from the girls in this pack. Why don't you choose someone to be your mate instead of accepting this stupid contract." I said back to him. "Your pack owes my pack. You're the payment and by looking at you right now, it's quite okay." He said smirking at me.
Every nerve in my body awoken in his stare. I stared back at him while stepping forward. "Well for me, you look ordinary. You're not what I've been looking for in a potential mate." I said angrily. He looked surprised but hid it away. "If that's the case, then should I prove myself to you? I don't even care that you can't shift. Do you think I care about what you think?" Shad said. "I might not be able to shift into my wolf form, but I'm blessed by the moon goddess. My talent is an advantage to this pack, plus I'm a well trained fighter. You should watch your words."
"I don't need to watch my words with you. I'm your Alpha now and you can't just talk to me like that." He said.
"Well for the record, I don't want you to be my Alpha but the contract left me no choice."
"Are you guys done fighting in-front of the pack?" Titus intervened. Shad and I looked at everyone around the table. This was embarrassing but I couldn't hide how I felt. They were judging my pack and my father. They didn't know how hard it was for him to let his only daughter go. If only there was a way to stop this mating shit. I'd do everything I could to do it. I couldn't stand seeing his perfect face. I stood up and left the room. If I stayed there with Shad and Josie flirting with watch other, I would've puked.
What a bastard Alpha he was! How could I escape from this place and not see that monster again?
