I woke up early that morning by a continuous knock on my door. I slowly stood up and walked to the door to open it. A girl who wore a maid clothes smiled at me politely. "Good morning, Lady Mika, I'm Carly and I'll be your personal maid while you're staying here. I came here to tell you that second beta Corey is expecting you at the training fields today." She said bowing slightly to me. "Don't do that." I said.
"Don't do what Lady?" She looked frightened. "Don't bow your head at me, I feel like I'm living in the 500 century. And please just call me Mika." I said laughing slightly."
"B-But Lady Mika, Alpha Shad will punish me if I do that." Carly said. "Okay." I said. She smiled at me and excused herself after I said that  didn't need anything as of now and promised to call her when I needed her. I still couldn't believe that, that bastard said those words. I felt my anger return.
I took a short shower, changing into shorts and a sports bra. I knew it was hot outside, I wanted to try to get a tan since I was so white compared to other people. I jogged my way to the training field until I stopped beside a very shocked Corey. I cleared my throat that brought his senses back. My shin was shining under the morning sun. I came from Snow Moon so it was natural to have smooth white skin.
"Wow Lady Mika, I didn't expect you to be sexy in those clothes." He said smirking at me. Him being tall and cocky made me laugh. "So, what will you be teaching me today?" I asked. He smiled and his facial expression changed into a serious one. "For a starter like you, since you can't shift into your wolf, I want to see how strong and fast you are. Max!"
"Yes, Second Beta?" Max said. "Max, this is Lady Mika. I know that you're already informed of her arrival, who, and what she is." Corey said.
Max slightly bowed to me. "It's nice to meet such a beautiful lady like you, Lady Mika." He said as he kisses the back of my hand. The 1800's vibe there really made it awkward. Corey patted Max's shoulder. "Lady Mika, you will be sparring with Max today. We will test your strength, ability, and how fast you are." He explained. "I wish to fight a man, not a baby." I said. He laughed at me while I followed Corey into the sparing ring. "The only rule here is, no shifting. This is to be fair with Lady Mika. You can't use your claws either Max." Corey said, "I'll be watching you guys."
"Don't worry about me big guy. I'm very used to this." I said confidently, smirking at him. Though he didn't say it, he was afraid that they would hurt me. They were wrong if they thought my father spoon fed me in training. My dad taught me everything he knew about combat. He kicked my ass many times. Sometimes I almost question if I'm his daughter. "Give me a good fight Max."
Without any words, Max attacked me. He took a swing at my right shoulder but I dodged it. We exchanged punches but he couldn't seem to aim nor hit me in the right places. I caught his right arm and twisted it. I heard some bones cracking as I smirked. Max stepped backwards and caught himself before he fell on the ground. "Max, don't play baby now." I said.
He stood up for a moment, partially shifting into his wolf form, claws extended and canines showing. I wasn't surprised, I was ready. "Max!" Corey shouted, but Max was too focused on me and his ego that I seemed to crack. He moved so fast, clawing my arm. I didn't move and let his claws touch my skin. I wanted to see Corey's reaction.
Blood was now flowing down my right arm but I ignored it. I could heal it on my own. I focused on Max as I did a spinning kick that hit him in the head. He fell again. I jumped onto his back and held his neck. "Give up and I let you go." I said. He pushed me but I slammed his arms down and grabbed his neck again. "Give up!" I shouted. "I-I give up," he said catching his breath when I let go of him.
Corey smiled at me, gesturing to the front door of the pack house. There was Titus and the devil in disguise, watching me. He looked at me amused. I just glared and helped Max stand up. I patted his back and the crowd cheered for us. I smiled at Max while they kept saying it was a good fight. "That's not bad at all," Corey said. "Yes, not bad." I responded. "I can see that you were trained well in your pack. You're fast and strong."
"Perks of having an Alpha father." I said.
"I think you better stitch those wounds." Corey said, looking at my arms. "I'm a healer, don't worry about it." I said.
"Okay, that's enough for today. I think Alpha Shad had fun watching you." He said, giving me a bottle of water. "I don't want to think about it. He doesn't talk to me about anything. Even this stupid arrangement. And I'm really pissed off right now because of what he said to me yesterday."
"He is not an easy person to deal with but believe me, if you get close to him, you won't want to lose him." He said.
I laughed, "are you gay?" I asked. "Would you like me to continue what Max failed to do?" He warned me but I could hear the joking in his tone. "No big guy, I'm fine for today." I said before I excused myself. I returned to my room and took a long refreshing shower until Carly brought me some breakfast and told me that Shad wanted to talk to me in his office. What does he want now?
