Chapter 11: A Little Moment With Him

**Mika's POV**

        "Mika, are you free today?" Shad asked. "Yes. You know that I don't have anything to do here until we fix the schedule of my patients that'll be transferred in my care." I said. "Yeah, you're right. Well.... I would like to tour you around if you'd be okay with that." He replied. "You really going to do that?" I asked excitedly. "Yup, since it's your second week here already. I might need to introduce you personally to the pack. They haven't seen us together." Shad said. "That's quite nice of you Alpha. Titus already toured me around for a bit but it was a quick walk around. I haven't gone to far." I said. "We should go then. I'll wait for you outside." He said.
        I ran as fast as I could to my room and fixed myself up, wearing black ripped jeans and a plain white v-neck shirt paired with black boots. I put my hair in a messy bun and I put on some lip gloss before running back outside. I saw Shad standing outside the door and when he turned, we both looked at each other and laughed.
        Shad was also wearing black ripped jeans and matching boots with a white v-neck shirt. We looked like a couple in our matching clothes. "This is funny." I said when I was standing next to him. He bumped me using his shoulder. "You copied my outfit." He said laughing. "No I didn't! I didn't even know you were wearing that. I saw you wearing a pair of jeans and a black shirt a little while ago." I said. "Well, it's funny that we're wearing the same type of clothes."
"Yeah get over it. So where's our destination?" I said. "Since our pack lives on the North side of the land, which you can see from here, we will be going there and checking on them. I want you to familiarize yourself in our perimeters and location." Shad said.
        The way he said our pack made my heart slip a beat. 'Shit! What am I thinking....?' I said to myself. He put his hand at the small part of my back and I could feel a little spark where his hand was resting. I looked at him but he seemed to not realize what was happening. Was it possible that I had a mate? I didn't have a wolf right then or was I just imagining those things? I ignored the sparks that came with his touch  and let him guide me on our way. If he could feel the sparks, he would have told me. I think?
        Shad kept explaining to me the roots of his family. The kind of life they have here. He spoke like he had been through this so many times. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Shad asked. "I'm just fascinated about your story; it seems that you know every single thing in your pack and pack history." I responded. "We'll, I do and I need to. I'm an Alpha and we honor our ancestors. Because of what they did, is the foundation of what we have now." He said smiling at me.
        I smiled back starting to feel more comfortable when he was around. "Alpha." An old man greeted Shad and looked at me. "You must be Luna Mika." He said. "Just Mika, Mr?"
"Oh, I'm sorry Luna. My name is Flynn and this is my wife, Kathleen." Flynn said. "Nice to meet you Flynn and Kathleen." I said while offering my hand to them. They accepted swiftly and shook my hand. "You are so beautiful, Luna Mika. You're perfect for our Alpha." Kathleen said sweetly. "Thank you. He was quite a good catch." I said making us all laugh.
        After talking to Flynn and Kathleen, we visited the river to rest. Someone had already set the food in a picnic styled way. "Who made this?" I asked. "One of my servants. I told them that we were eating here." He said while placing food on my plate. "Thank you."
        As I looked at him I saw him smile. "Your land is beautiful. Full of life, full of nature." I stated after finishing my food. "Do you like it here?"
"I do. It's lovely and colorful but I also love my pack." I said. "Your old pack. This is your pack now Mika." Shad said. "I know, but I was born in Snow Moon. It'll always be my home. Besides, I was a healer there and a fighter to but here, I'm nothing." I said. "You're not nothing here. You'll be my Luna. A mother to everyone. You mean everything here." Shad expressed.
        I looked down but he touched my chin and made me look in his eyes. "W-What are you doing?" I asked. My heart was about to explode. "Don't feel so small. It doesn't matter if you don't have a wolf or that there's a lot of healers here. The important thing is the upcoming role you'll be doing for the pack." He said kissing my forehead. I felt that little spark again. We looked into each other's eyes. "Do you feel that?" I asked. "Yes." He admitted. "D-Do you think that I could possibly be your mate?"
"I don't know, but I just want you to know that I'm starting to like you." Shad said.
        He was about to kiss me but he was interrupted by my phone ringing. Woaaah! That was close! "Hello?" I said answering my phone. "Piggy! It's me! I'm on my way to visit you. Tell your Alpha that I'm coming." Toby said. "Oh my gosh! Really?!" I said. "Yes! I just need his approval to get in." Toby pointed out. "Okay, wait!"
        I looked at Shad and he looked pissed off. "Shad, my best friend is in your perimeter. He wants to know if——"
"Okay. Let him in." He said not looking at me. "Okay, thank you." I put my phone back up to my ear. "Hello? Toby? You still there?" I asked. "Yes piggy! Can I enter his territory now?" Toby asked. "Yes."
"See you in a bit piggy." He said before hanging up. "Shad, thank you for the tour and the food." I said but he didn't respond. "Let's go now.. I need to fix things in my office." I said. "No prob."
        We walked to the pack house quietly. The air seemed to change and I could feel the uncomfortable feelings coming from Shad. I stopped and grabbed his hand. "Shad? What's wrong? Did I do something?" I asked. "Nothing. Let's get back." He said, turning his back and walking away, leaving me confused with his actions.
