We rested for a moment inside the treehouse before we decided to head back. I was so shy to show myself to the pack, especially my father since we just completed the bond. "It's time to go." Shad said. We fixed ourselves and left the treehouse.
Everyone cheered when they saw us. The wolves were howling at the moon, welcoming their Luna and Alpha. I looked at the sky and smiled. It was only an hour before the blue moon showed. I couldn't wait to see it. They say that it only showed once every hundred years but this time it only takes twenty-two years to show itself.
I saw my father waving at me. I ran to him and hugged him tightly. "I'm so happy for you, Mika. Who would have thought you'd be marrying Shad." Dad said. "Yeah Dad, who would've known?"
"Hi sis! Congrats." Mateo said before hugging me. "Thank you Mat," I replied, hugging him back. "I wish you all the best, Luna Mika." We both laughed at our words when Toby showed himself and hugged me.
Mateo and Dad left us and chatted with the others. "Hey T!" I said. "So, you've finally decided to choose that man." Toby said bitterly. "T, Shad is a good man. He may not show it but he is and I love him." I saw sadness in his eyes. "I hope he'll treat you better this time. Mika, I want you to know that you are special. Take good care of yourself now, okay?" Toby said. I smiled at him.
Even many of the pack members, my dad included, thought that Toby and I would fall for each other. Yet here we are, standing in front of each other loving our friendship. I knew he liked me more than a friend but I refused to officially ask. What's left unsaid can be better sometimes. I wouldn't love him the way he wanted me to, especially now that I already found my other half. "Thank you, T. You really are the best of friends." I said before someone grabbed my hand. It was a kid that I really didn't know. "Luna, can you come with me for a while?" She asked. "Why? Is there a problem?" I asked. "Yes, somebody needs your help behind the house. He's injured." She said.
I became very alert. Why would there be someone hurt out here? Was there an attack that we didn't know about? I looked at Shad who was busy talking to his friends and some other pack members. I didn't want to disturb him so I decided to investigate the situation myself. "Okay little girl, lead the way." I said. She nodded and ran into the backyard of the pack house. I followed her to the deepest part of the backyard where all the trees were.
We were in the forest already when I saw the girl stop and cry. "Hey, what's the problem?" I asked. "Luna I'm sorry." She said while crying. "Why are you saying sorry?"
"The man told me to bring you here. He kidnapped my brother and the only thing that I can do to save him is bring you here." Before I could react, there was something injected into my back that caused me to black out.*****
Shad's POV
*****I was laughing with Titus when I felt a shooting pain in my chest. Mika. I looked around but I couldn't find her. I saw her father and brother. "Mateo! Have you seen Mika?!" I asked. "She was here when a little girl talked to her, why?" Mateo asked. "I can't find her. She's not answering my calls through our link." I explained, panic filling my body and mind. "Alert everyone and let's start looking for her." Mateo said. I mind-linked everyone, telling them to find Mika.
Everyone moved, even our guests. I high alerted all my warriors to search the perimeters of our borders. "Alpha, we saw Kora and Kane crying in the backyard." Neo, one of my warriors informed me. I ran as fast as I could to get there. "Kora what happened?" She was one of my pack warriors daughters. "Alpha, I'm sorry it's all my fault." Kora said crying. "Don't cry, just tell me what happened." I said gently, hoping to calm her.
"Kane and I were playing out here when a man came and took Kane. He said that if I wanted to see my brother alive, I needed to tell the Luna that there was someone who was injured back here to make her follow me... he said that when the Luna comes he'd free Kane..." she said. "Where is the Luna now? And do you know the guy?"
"No Alpha, he smells different. He didn't have a scent when I saw him and he injected something into Luna's back that caused her to sleep."
"Where did they bring her? Which way did they go?" I asked. "They went North, Alpha." Kora said still crying. "Go back to the pack house. Now. With your brother." I ordered.
I couldn't blame this child for this. Whoever did this had planned it very well. He might have used the masking spray to cover his scent. 'Titus, Mika was taken. Inform everyone that the kidnapper doesn't have a scent. He's masking himself so we can't track him. Tell them to secure my land, no one is allowed to leave without permission. We need to find my Luna.' I said before cutting the link.
I met Mika's dad at the front of the pack house. "Where is my daughter?" He asked. "Mika was kidnapped." I said without looking at him. I couldn't look at him right now. It was our wedding day but my fiancé had been taken from me by an unknown person. And what the hell would he do her. What does he need from her? "Who the hell would do that?!" Alpha Malcolm asked. "I don't know. The man who took her masks his scent so we can't track him." I explained.
"We'll search the east side of your land., just let me know if you find her or if there is any news." Malcolm said. I just nodded. Who the hell would do this to her and what does he want from her?
