Sanemi's POV
I walk through the path of bamboo forests. I feel comfortable and pretty calm, at least for now. I've just finished a mission with Tokito, and thank God I didn't have to handle Tomioka in those three days.
The breeze hits me in the face gently. I look up at the fluffy clouds, exhaling as some tension leaves my body. I take a moment to adjust my lungs to the clear weather, my head clearing with the wind. I lose grip of my sword, deciding to relax for a minute or two.
"Hello there."
I flinch at the figure appearing right in front of me. I take one quick look, and I sigh deeply. It's Ryoba. She's dangling from a rope connected to a tree branch, and she's upside-down. The smirk on her lips is hiding mischievous intentions that I fail to imagine.
"You scared the living shit out of me, dumbass!" I yell as I rub the back of my head. Im not really annoyed by her presence, but I try to show otherwise so that she won't tease me. "Is that so?" She asks, her expression turning curious, quickly turning to a grin, "I know that you're happy to see me. I haven't heard your loud screams for three days." She closes her eyes in confidence. I kept staring at her in irritation, fighting the urge to yell.
She opens her eyes again, "I was bored..." she pauses, her eyes piercing mine. I wait impatiently for her to continue-
"Without you."
Something spikes inside of me, I feel so uncomfortable that the tips of my ears begin to burn. I breathe heavily as I turn my back to her, earning a confused sound from Ryoba in return. I start to walk slowly, but then I realize that it's a little too quiet, even though I was alone with Ryoba. I glance back, only to see nothing. Ryoba is gone.
As soon as I look forward, I yelp. She is in front of me, when she was behind me two seconds ago. She's smiling smugly, her arms behind her back. I grunt as I walk past her, increasing the pace slowly, but then I hear her following me. "Don't assume I'm letting you walk by yourself, Shinazugawa!"
I pause, turning back, "HUH?!"
Ryoba grins widely, then walks towards me calmly. She chuckles, "I'm following you until you go back to Oyakata-sama, and probably for the rest of the day." She announces nonchalantly, not bothering to keep some distance between her and I.
I'm too shocked to speak. I just came from a damn mission, and I was looking forward to relaxing for the rest of the day, and now I have to stay with Ryoba for who knows how long?!
"Damn..." I think, hearing Ryoba's almost inaudible footsteps, "This is gonna suck..."
My first official chapter! So yes, this is how things are gonna go, other than such chapters, I will also provide separate chapters that follow the original plot of the story, and I'll try to do more as soon as possible
