Breathing Technique: Sun Breathing
Sun Breathing (Hi no Kōkyu) is the first and main Breathing Technique created by Tsugikuni Yoriichi. 13 Forms in total, but Ai was only taught 12 Forms by her older brother Yoriichi. The strongest and sharpest Breathing Technique, and it was passed down to the Kamado Family to be known as Hinokami Kagura. Not only is it extremely effective on demons, but it's also a memory of Yoriichi to Ai.

Backstory:-

Ai was born few weeks before Akeno's death, and she was barely taken care of. She grew up lonely, Michikatsu wasn't fond of her, and Yoriichi had left long ago. When she was around 5 years old, she was watching Michikatsu training, and she decided to get closer to him. When she did, she asked him if she can try to swing the blade. Michikatsu, who had seen how Yoriichi simply attacked his teacher despite his age, was extremely tense. Ai was basically a copy of Yoriichi, she wouldn't show any expression, and her eyes were the exact same as his, and she had the same birthmark.

Michikatsu nervously gave her his blade, and he stood as she was staring at it in awe. She raised it, then swung it to her right while charging forward in full speed, cutting the huge boulder that Michikatsu always struggled to cut. He was stunned, and anger began rushing through his veins. He snatched his blade and screamed at her to get lost, which Ai did without a single word. Michikatsu felt cursed, because he realized that Ai had the same gifts as Yoriichi. When she figured out about Yoriichi years later of abuse from Michikatsu, she left too.

When she finally found Yoriichi, she was 14, while he was 21. After their reunion, Yoriichi offered his sister to live with him and a pregnant Uta. Living with both of them, and learning Sun Breathing was one of the best times of Ai's life, but not for long. When Yoriichi left to bring a midwife, Tamayo arrived. Ai had no idea that she was a demon, but she kept a distance either way. When hearing Uta's scream, she couldn't move to help, because Muzan himself stopped her, and he managed to turn her into a demon, despite Ai trying her best to fight him. However, Ai was kidnapped before learning the last Form of Sun Breathing.

Although, she didn't fully turn into a demon, but a half-demon instead. She managed to almost kill Muzan, but she only left him asleep for several years. When hearing the news that Michikatsu turned into a demon, it was the first time she ever cried silently in her life. She felt ashamed of going back to Yoriichi after she couldn't save Uta and the child, so she hid and traveled, leaving her training sword beside Uta's dead, cold body.

Ai was watching as "Kokushibo" and an old Yoriichi were having a duel. She never interfered. But she saw it when Yoriichi died of old age, and she saw it when Kokushibo sliced his body in half before leaving. Ai went over to Yoriichi's corpse, she didn't cry, she prayed. Burying him later on, she took his haori, and his sword. She also found the flute that Michikatsu once gave him. It was in a small packet made out of Uta's kimono.

Years later, Ai entered the Final Selection. Surely enough, she passed. She had made a decision to meet the current Kamado Family, but she only stumbled upon a boy who was trying to embrace his raging sister. She was stunned when she say his hair, his eyes, his Hanafuda earrings, and his scar. She watched closely as a Hashira tried to kill the sister, where she joined in, snatching the sister, and protecting the sleeping boy. Even the Hashira knew who she was, but he left immediately as Ai draped her blade. If he fought her now, it won't be any good.

Later on, Ai learned about the boy and his sister. She didn't tell him about herself, she only said, "Call me Ai." Tanjiro was surprised at how much they both looked like each other. But he decided to follow her in his journey. Ai, being a Kinoe at the time, she taught him to go to Urokodaki Sakonji, train, then they'd be ready. Since then, both of them had been together, even after meeting Agatsuma Zenitsu and Hashibira Inosuke.

Physical Appearance:-

Physically overpowered. Her waist is slim, and her bust is small, but not too small. Her body is almost full with scars and bruises. Long, dark crimson hair tied into a high ponytail. Her right eye is the same as Tanjiro's, the other is covered with an eyepatch that hides her eye that looks exactly like Muzan's. She wears a dark brown Demon Slayer uniform, the same as Tanjiro's. She wears Yoriichi's pale red haori, and his sword at her belt. She has the exact same birthmark as him, and it's kinda different from Tanjiro's. Her arms and neck are bandaged.

Personality:-

Quiet, calm, and often expressionless. She doesn't need to show expression to show emotions. Since Tanjiro has been with her for too long, he knows how she feels. He can also smell a scent of her emotions, but she's often releasing a smell of emptiness. She doesn't feel sympathy towards demons, unlike Tanjiro. She actually cares a lot for the Kamaboko Squad, and even Nezuko deeply loves her.

Ai hides her pain from everyone. She often plays the flute, and she usually cries while being at it. But if she's caught, she won't stop sobbing and talking. Even though she knows she won't see Yoriichi again, she keeps thinking about him until tears start rolling down her cheeks nonstop.

Fun Fact:-

Tsugikuni Ai is well-known among the Hashiras. She's viewed as a dangerous demon by them, and some of the Hashira often go on missions to find her so they can investigate her matter. For that reason, Tomioka Giyuu decided not to fight her when she protected Tanjiro and Nezuko, because if he did, they both might die.
