POLICE CONFIRM THEY HAVE DISCOVERED A HUMAN BODY IN THE CENTRE OF A LAKE IN A LOCAL REGIONAL AREA
Last night, a local resident had reported to authorities of a "unpleasant smell" that seemed to be emerging from the local lake in Derry. At around 11:01pm, they arrived at the location and deployed underwater officers. It wasn't until around 12:06am when they stumbled across a body, of which they only assume and describe to a woman somewhere around in her 20s they estimate. The resident has said they "had no idea how the body got there" as she said "no one has been walking the route for a long time" but it is only now that this gross discovery has been made.
"Due to the water that had drenched parts of the corpse, we will be conducting an extensive forensic examination into the circumstances surrounding the origins to this devastating discovery. At this stage, it is too early to determine what has happened to the person found, however, we strongly believe the circumstances behind the death has been tragic so ultimately, we do not believe anybody was involved in this consequential outcome." PC officer had spoke in a statement.
Due to this sudden discovery, council officials, under legal obligation, are instructed to close the park for a few days until police collect any piece of evidence that they can find. Members of the public are asked to arrange their walking routines, at an alternative location for the meantime. Regular patrols will be imposed on the land at the end of this operation.
