Another week passed by and I was caught up in a loop of eating, going to school, studying, eating again, studying, going to home, studying, and eating once again, then once more studying, and finally the tensed and uncomfortable sleep.

I know I shouldn't create sympathy for myself by stating that, because it's not just me but every student in my class were undergoing the same, hence instead of feeling miserable, I have begun to face this obstacle and undertake the struggle, in order to brighten up my future.

Today was Sunday, and our home is decorated so as to conduct a confirming ceremony of my sister's marriage. Her prospective groom's name is Ezhil and he was an architect. Initially, my sister was against the idea of marriage but what magic did that guy do to her, I have no idea about that, but soon after seeing his picture and speaking to him through mobile, she just nodded her head actively to my parent's query of 'Are you ready to marry?'

And when I asked her, she said that he was a 'sweetheart'. I did not enquire her further.

I draped myself in a grand long blue churidar with heavy stone works. To be truthful, I don't like this kind of clothes but my mother was stubborn and asked me to wear it.

Preparing myself with eyeliner, bindi, and a light shade of pink lipstick, I descended the stairs to find some relatives from my father's side.

I hate them. Every chance they get, they will try to belittle me by stirring my insecurities. Completely ignoring their presence, I went outside. Some uncles were prevailing here and there, seemingly conversing something with each other.

My heart cried out while my lips stayed pressed together tightly. Just then, a way too familiar figure ran to me and engulfed me in a tight hug.

"Kannagi akka,(sister) I can't breathe!!" I choked out, suffocated by our proximity.

"I missed you Renu" she cupped my cheeks and said in a sentimental tone.

"Me too akka" I mumbled, genuinely. I have always seen Kannagi akka as my own sister, and now that I'm seeing her after a long time, I couldn't help but feel elated.

"You are so bad akka! You don't even call me" I swatted her hands away, suddenly remembering how she used to not contact me after her marriage.

"Arae, it's cause I don't want to disturb your studies. But I swear, I always inquire about you to Ramya" How is it that both the sister and brother are thinking alike?

"The former part is what Karthik says always" Her eyes squinted at my comment. "Tell me, you both did not cross any limits!" I sighed, boringly.

"Po akka, Avanga athukellam seri pattu varamaatanga (Leave it sister, he is not fit for that..)"
At my comment, Kannagi sister breaks out into laughter.

"Who is not fit for what?" Came the voice of Ryan brother! "Ah, how are you anna? (brother) and why are you coming alone instead of tagging along Kannagi sister?" He lend a side glance to sister before looking at me.

"I'm good Renukha, and your sister did not wait for me to park the car. She was long gone once I had endeavored the same" I dragged an 'o' at his response, and then pinched my Kannagi sister's arms.

"What kind of wife are you! You should wait and fetch your husband" I advised in a serious manner whereas Kannagi sister made a dumbfounded face.

"He is lying Renu. Parking the car huh? He was conversing with someone! A very important call it was..." There appeared a relatively cold battle going on between the couple as they stared at each other, disregarding my existence.
